Once again, of course people shouldn't break the law, but saying "well, if you didn't break the law in the first place you wouldn't have to worry about police abusing their power" isn't really a great take.

if you don't think it is, then that's fine. Doesn't change the fact that it's correct.

quote:

You even compared it to someone going get gas in the hood, and blaming them if they get robbed. I guess the girl shouldn't have worn a short skirt while walking down the dark alleyway either. It's just not a great look

I'm not blaming them, but that doesn't mean they didn't show a lack of personal responsibility in their decision.

Should i be able to get gas on plank road at night without fear? Yes, but that's not reality. I'm not placing blame on someone that does try this, and gets robbed or murdered, but that doesn't change the fact that it was an incredibly stupid decision to do so.

I'm a very unsympathetic person. anyone close to me knows that. I'm that way b/c i just think people control what happens to them more than they want to admit, and when something bad happens to me i'm going to look at what i did to cause it first, before i look at what others did, even when i am not to blame. What could i have done to avoid this, or made the situation better? i'm applying that here, and I can see how it's not coming off well to some of you. That's just my mindset.

then why attack someone for simply saying "don't be a criminal"?

O quit being a baby, this was literally your first reply to me in this thread.

who in the frick is saying this, jesus fricking christ.
NO ONE IS SAYING THE WHAT THE COP DID WAS OK.

Jax breaking the law is what caused the cops to come in the first place. You can't debate that, and trying to rationalize it in some way is just more of the stupidity we see in this country everyday with people refusing to accept personal responsibility. It's the root cause of his bad experience with a cop.
Don't be a dumbass breaking the law, and the interaction never happens. WHy is this so fricking hard for you dumb asses to understand this extremely simple statement about personal responsibility?

mean there's video evidence. It was clear that they needed to get physical with him. It was also clear the one cop needed to get off his neck. It's pretty simple and the PD acknowledges it.

This is very fair and I can agree with pretty much all of that. Well said.

Nobody on social media gives two shits about Jaxson. There was no witch hunt against the PD here

I thought that was the whole purpose of the OP.

The article evens talks about how the cops weren't wearing masks and that would have to be "addressed". Seemed a bit like a witchhunt, especially in that city/state and it's focus on police reform.

I mean......don't beat up your girlfriend and then try to prevent officers from entering the home to speak with her then.

This getting downvoted 5 times gives me a pretty good indication where we’re at as a society… zero fricking accountability. Play stupid games win stupid prizes .
