I'd trade all 3 of our big contracts. I wouldn't even stress what we got back in return. I'm all in on watching our young player develop.

I'd rather watch a projected 25 win team overachieve and win 35 games, than a projected 50 win team struggle and win 40. It's a better story to me..

Lemme guess, not a season ticket holder? Do you even watch the NBA?

Wrong, trade him for 2 concession stand workers and call it a win.

This situation only proves what we already know. Zion is immature and makes terrible decisions.

Nola: Zion and maybe a throw in like kira or sign and trade jax

Charlotte: Mark Williams, #2, & unprotected 2024 1st and a top 5 protected 2025 pick
Nola zion

how anyone can still be advocating for this guy, especially after this, i just dont understand...

and before we get a bunch of tone deaf motherfrickers up in here talking about how NBA players frick pornstars all the time, that's not the point...

we already know about his inability to keep his weight in check, his inability to stay healthy, he and his family's problems with the front office/franchise, his reluctance to come back from injury in a timely manner, etc... but now you add the media circus that he's created for himself and the negative publicity it creates for him and subsequently the team, and yeah, there isn't much "positive", other than preganancy tests, to associate with the dude anymore...

i've been steadfast since it became apparent that he wasn't coming back from the injury, before the ASG, it's time to move on from him, as he's not someone that can be counted on

Let's see what comes of it. It looks like the team slowed down his rehab to show him actions, and in-actions, have consequences. This is certainly showing him actions in the real world have consequences. And a few people are pointing out, he's not just whoring around and ignoring his responsibilities, he seems to be embracing the responsibility of being a dad. While many here may wish he had a different baby mama, becoming a dad is a profound enough life event that the maturity odds are pretty good IMO.

As far as the other woman that made this whole situation blow up goes, we obviously don't know the details, but she might have thought their relationship was more serious than Zion did. From her perspective she sees a sign of commitment "he wants me to come live in New Orleans", but Zion is mega rich, from his perspective getting a hookup condo might have been about privacy and not seem like a commitment at all because he's megarich. In his mind he might have just been upgrading his regular hookup from a hotel.

If we told y'all any of the players on the team had a serious girlfriend and a few side pieces hardly any of you would bat an eye. It would seem normal for the NBA. But the moment it comes out that Zion's tastes are different than the tastes on this board everyone melts. Y'all need to stop being so judgey and care about how this impacts the Pels, not how you would do things differently if you were Zion and he's wasting his potential off the court. Let that man live his life.

Preach

But didn't you also say something about how this proved to you that Zion won't get his shite together and he's going the Shawn Kemp route?

The difference is the other players don't seem to be so fragile mentally.

Zion just seems extremely gullible and naive and easily manipulated.

He's not just wasting his potential off the court but on it. Cuddling up to these nasty skanks, imo, will directly impact him on the court specifically because he is so weak mentally.

Other players could probably shrug off a few hos. This dude is likely to go into a depression and blimp up.

Nope. I said I couldn't stop thinking about it. It was a lot to process and had all of us in a dark space.

That a good assumption, since I live several states away. But I did live in the state for a couple of decades and I own property there. I also have a large group of my family there. The team is state subsidized and I go to a couple of games a year. I have been a fan since they moved and have team merchandise I wear, even getting odd looks going most places. So I'm pretty secure in my Fandom.

Did that Trump card workout like you hoped?

Your ignorance continues to flow. Buying a shirt is not the same as paying for season tickets for 20 years. Not sure where the "Trump card" reference came from. However, I now see that you are from Atlanta. Says a lot....

Alright you have my attention. So, by your definition, my opinion does not count unless I'm a season ticket holder? Even more so, a ticket holder for multiple years?

What makes a fan, in your opinion?

More over, you want to brush aside everything I said. Let's pull the state funding and tv deal, plus endorsements. You and the ticket holders can carry the burden, right? You guys must be doing a bang up job, since the organization comes begging for more help every couple years..

c'mon man.
Just because you live in shitty New Orleans and can get season tickets doens't make you more of a fan that someone who doesnt' live in NO.

I could see how being a season ticket holder vs not; would effect your opinion of a blow it up rebuild. I have no idea what "more of a fan" means. At the end of the day, the pelicans as a business, care a hell of a lot more about people paying for tickets.

Listening to the Bill Simmons pod and the Jacoby dude was suggesting that teams will be interested in trading for Zion because they think they can buy low and he'll mature.

Reasonable. But he followed that by saying he thinks Ja is going to have a tremendous career. Lost me there.

Simmons compared Ja to Marbury which is pretty spot on imo.

I remember this day - 32 year old Magic announcing he was HIV positive.

While lots of people questioned his choices off the court and decision making when it came to safe sex...

Nobody equated this with his ability to play basketball

In practice? Someone makes me a Godfather offer, I have to think long and hard about it because he doesn’t seem to be interested in basketball or conditioning, just InstaThots.

I think we’re LOOOONG past the godfather offer territory. I’ve been fine trading him and still fine trading him.

1000x yes. But highly doubt they’re offering anything close to that, especially Charlotte.

I do - some people want New Orleans to win and provide constructive comments good or bad.

Others intrinsically hate everything New Orleans and only come on this board to drop Negs about the city and everything in it.

I would classify the first as more of a fan.
