Players will reject Holiday if Griff anoints him as the team leader. That's why team captain are elected.
Rondo is a leader. David West is a leader. Chris Paul is a leader. Holiday ain't a leader

Barking is the lack of leadership. Griff should be asking what is best for team not an individual player.

BTW draftnet.com compared Holiday to Flip Murray and Delonte West.

Marcus Smart will try to guard anyone, but would prefer Tatum at the 3 and Go back to someone like Niko to play the 4. Marcus isn't 6-4.

I wouldn't mind Justin H or Santoransky being in the rotation in the backcourt. More size to rotate between 1-3.

What would Jay Williams’ career looked like if he hadn’t crippled himself riding a motorcycle?

Plot twist - over time, the level of knowledgeable discussion increases on here, thus becoming what "the elite board" concept was about

It has gone up 400% over the past few years, but it lacks the ability to lock out the idiots, trolls, and just plain dumb.

Its not about JUST having good posters, its about having zero bad posters.

I went back to July 2018 to a thread titled "Was Rondo Really that Good." One blogger's words stood out:

If AD and/or JH can not fill that role , then this team would never go anywhere. The training wheels are off, time for those guys to be leaders.

Thanks for your prophetic words, Crewz!

Not nearly as good as Dame. He gets very much overrated because his NBA career ended before it really began and so people just remember his Duke days. For a guy who was touted as an elite prospect and who spent 3 years in college at Duke, he had a pretty crappy statistical rookie (age 21) season.

And once AD chaos happened, Jrue was a leader behind th scenes. He is ready

That's great. But its a fair question to ask if he's going to be a leader front and center. This board knows all too well that the perception of the leader is just as important as being the behind the scenes leader as well. He very well should be ready. His pedigree, there's zero excuse not to be.

He's had to grow into it. He said in the past he didn't want to be the center of attention, and then the AD stuff went down and he just stepped up. Jrue really looked like he was carrying himself in a different way bringing the ball down the court surrounded by just Randle and scrubs. It will be interesting to see if Jrue holds onto the reins if AD does come back. We know AD doesn't want them, so hopefully he will.

This is the opposite of what the research shows.

This is the only thing that gives me pause about any chance of AD returning. I doubt that he does, but wouldn't be shocked that he did. I don't want Jrue to be the good guy that he is and step aside and let the reins go. I would AD would come in and let Jrue be the leader and just follow his mindset. I think AD has too much of an ego for that, honestly.

Based purely on talent, you bring him back no doubt. It's the other stuff that worries me. I know he got along with everyone during this whole debacle, but I just don't know if that would change if he stays and says it's "his team."
