In an exercise to try and gauge Lonzo’s worth, let’s say that Griffin has a 4/80m contract that he has to give to one player this offseason. Who would you rather pay?

a. Ball
b. Duncan Robinson
c. Oladipo
d. Dinwiddie
e. Brogdon (trade and then extend current contract)
f. Other Realistic Option

Im sure that this is actually what will need up happening:

Given the choices Brogdon, but Duncan Robinson is next best to me if they are ok with giving NAW the keys

Brogdon or Robinson.

I think Ball is what he is. An consistently inconsistent 3 point shooter. He will have some hot streaks and some cold streaks, but you just can’t give him 20 mill.

Kyle Lowry, Chris Paul, or Mike Conley and yes I know they are all 100 years old and 4yr 80 mil might actually be on the low side to get them. They will prob be wanting 2yr 60 mil.

The only guy on the list that's likely to leave is Lowry and he has already stated he'll only go to a contending team. Paul and Conley are in good situations and will probably be retained.

Paul has a player option for 44 million next year, he's not declining that.

I'd definitely rather Brogdon out of these choices. I'd kind of lump Dinwiddie and Lonzo together as the next tier.

Duncan would be cool to have but I don't see a team feeling comfortable giving him that contract. He gets lumped into Kyle Korver, Joe Harris, or JJ Redick molds, but hes more of a strictly 3 point guy than those guys. If he catches it off a screen and doesnt have an immediate shot, he can't quickly drive and move the ball with advantages because hes so slow. Plus, in his 3rd year age 26 season, he regressed in every shooting statistic (still 40% from 3, but did regress)

Oladipo at that contract I might stop being a fan

Brogdon and it’s not really close. Now if the Ball you’re referring to is LaMelo them that’s an entirely different story.

1. Brogdon (above average-elite shooter, above average primary ball handler, average-above average defensively)
2. Ball (above average shooter, above average secondary ball handler, decent defensively)
3. Robinson (elite shooter, below average ball handler, below average defensively)
4. Dinwiddie (below average shooter, above average primary ball handler, average defensively, injury concerns)
5. Oladipo (injury concerns --- not risking it)

No way dinwiddie is getting that much.

I wouldn't pay any of them 20 mil besides brogdon.

Give me Ball for a 4 year contract. He drives me nuts but he's shown he can shoot and works well as a secondary playmaker. He also still has the athleticism and youth to improve on defense. While he sucks at driving he's shown that hes a guy you can kick to on the perimeter and make a good decision to shoot or keep swinging the ball.

Although I would really prefer to S&T Lonzo out and not give 20 mil to any of these guys. None of them are gonna make or break the team. Give me the bargain bin guys and save the cap space and assets for someone who can help us make the jump.

Honestly Robinson. Has the most of this team needs, straight fire shooting. Guy ready to catch on shoot on the dish out from Zion drives.

But PG the biggest question. I wouldn’t hate NAW in that role since Zion/Ingram can bring the ball up too.
