Knicks need to get on the phone with Orlando for Aaron Gordon. I think they were rumored as interested in DSJ before the trade.

Gordon - Jrue - Zion core would be a bloody terror on defense.

Gordon does more than dunk. He can initiate as can Jrue and Zion. On defense, both Gordon and Zion can switch 1-5 and protect the rim. Gordon and Jrue would make for the best perimeter defense in the league. Gordon would also be amazing in transition with Zion

Gordon's become a better shooter every single year

quote:

The 23-year-old shot 40.4 percent from 20-to-24 feet out, a five percent improvement from the prior season, and 34.7 percent between five and nine feet away, nearly a 15 percent increase.

Phenomenonal kick out passer too and a big reason why orl went 20-9 to end the season

He's an all NBA caliber defender too

Yep. He’d be such a beast paired with Jrue and Zion. He’s also only 23 and on a great declining contract locked in for 3 years.

He’s my absolute favorite vet trade target.

I'd love to add Gordon, is he still available after their playoff run though?

New York would have to get 1.3 to get Gordon which means we wouldn’t get it. But could maybe work around that

Maybe that’s a sign we aren’t high on Barrett.

Gordon’s 3 point game has improved. He’s become a more versatile player

m
not as the centerpiece of the trade clearly
his issue is he needs the ball in his hand. Rookies who need the ball can be a disaster

You only need 4 years in the league to be a vet now?

No way, his contract is horrid, and he’s not enough to push us over the hump by any means plus he don’t fit the timeline. If the knicks go And even just get one of either tj warren, Covington, or Dario Saric, to add to an offer of #3, 2 firsts, M Robinson I’d be more interested.

They would need to pay us to take him. Overpaid and not effective any longer.

Batum is a negative asset at his age and contract. Trying to get him is a horrible idea unless they sending us a first for our troubles...

I don't understand why the Knicks would be making the calls instead of us. Why not figure out what would be coming our way IF we made the trade, then start calling other teams with a combination of those assets and our own? We would essentially be letting NYK's front office negotiate with OUR assets. What if, say, Orlando would do Gordon for Dallas picks + Moore, but not the Dallas picks + other Knicks assets? The Pels should be figuring out what we could ultimately do with that package and comparing it to what we could do with Boston's, Lakers, etc...

Probably because they aren’t our assets yet and we don’t need to be wasting our own time doing legwork if there are better deals on the table.

If the Knicks are doing this, we have apparently told them they are in third place or worse and they have to improve their assets to stay in the running. We can give them some examples of what we want but we aren’t going to negotiate for them if they aren’t the likely winning bid.
