Really? AD is constantly mentioned as a top 5 player. Embiid might be a top 10.

I agree but we need to make a deal before free agency starts

Top 5 players don’t average 30 wins over 7 seasons., with 1 playoff series won.
Embiid is without a doubt a better player than AD

NOP: #7, Collins, Harkless, Carter, Dunn, future POR 1st
7 puts you missing on the top 6 prospects in the draft: Zion, Ja, Barrett, Garland, Culver, and Hunter. It's a bad spot to be in.
Collins is meh, Harkless is pretty bad, Dunn could be a decent role player, Carter still has potential to be something.
A future Portland pick is a crapshoot.
It's really not a very good deal. Who in that deal has star potential to you?
Posted on 6/10/19 at 10:46 am to Epic Cajun
Well first off, I did use them as just an example, you can swap Chicago with Toronto, Phoenix, Atlanta, hell pretty much anybody..
Star potential in that deal?
Well for one the guy I would hope we take (Sekou).. Collins has Brook Lopez potential, Carter has great potential, and Dunn could end up being a good piece off the bench to make an even deeper team..
Then, in 2 years when AD leaves (I know hes not staying in Portland), you get a potentially great draft pick(s)..
Hell, you may even be able to flip Collins, Carter and another piece to get Lilliard away from them..
I still stand by though, there are only 3 teams in the NBA that could beat that kind of a deal, and that's NYK, LAL, and Boston..
NYK would have to put everything on the table to beat it, which would in turn force LAL and Boston to out everything they have on the table

He said earlier today he expects a bunch of leaks by the end of the week and this to be done by next Monday or Tuesday.
Or just any deal they make should be done by then?
I don't like this one at all. CJ has I think 2 years left on his deal. It doesn't really lineup with a Zion timeline and the last thing I'd want is to have little to show for an AD deal 3 years from now.
CJ is the better player but I'd still prefer a deal with Tatum and that Memphis pick.
For as good as he is, CJ is also overpaid.

Same here
To me, acquiring future draft assets is the biggest goal in an AD deal
It’s the main reason I dislike the Lakers package
I like CJ a lot, but I really just want these leaks to put Boston in desperation mode

We would overpay CJ for 2 seasons, the 1st 2 seasons of Zion.
Then even if CJ doesn't walk, I'd hope we wouldn't plan to give him $30mil a season for 4 seasons starting at age 30.
Sounds disastrous the more I think about it. 2 ok seasons later, we'd have zach Collins and a bad draft pick to show for Anthony freaking Davis.

Yeah I’d be down if Zion was ready and we were trying to win now. CJ makes sense as a missing piece for a title contender, not a semi-rebuild with a rookie star

Any deal.
He mentioned this many hours before even mentioning Portland. He was just saying that he expects a bunch of leaks by week's end and then a decision to be made early next week.

Embiid has major health issues. Think he’ll be useless by the time he’s 30

Toronto is literally one win away from winning a championship closing games with a Kyle Lowry/Fred Van Fleet 6’0 6’1 backcourt.
Dallas won one with Jason Terry.

I actually don't hate that deal.
cj is underrated as fook.
harkless is decent and I think Collins will be really really good in 2 years
if they get some more pics I'd be down

Where did I say that CJ is worth more than AD?
Posted on 6/11/19 at 3:06 am to Fun Bunch
Yeah no they’re gonna have to include Lillard
Posted on 6/11/19 at 6:39 am to ForeverEllisHugh
Agree wrong guard. Lillard would change everything...

If you are trading for CJ to then just trade him, you have to think the return on him is greater than that of Davis. Derp

If you think we're getting back a player of Lillard's quality in this trade, you are going to be disappointed.
