I don't think people realize how slim it is, ontop of that the role they would play.

I doubt Mo Bamba in his young career is okay with that.
Mason Plumlee looks to be returning to LAC
WCS is worse
Paul Reed is a RFA
Dedmon is more geriatric

Biyombo is one I thought we should have gone for, really good defensively. poor offensively. but fits what we don't have

I really don't care about the 3rd Center or the 14-15th player on the roster. If he ever plays significant minutes, we are pretty much f'd anyway.

I just believe they could or should be able to find someone in the 2nd or overseas that can fill this type of role. I'd rather be developing someone, so there is some sort of possible upside..

since I saw Zeller recently your hope is reasonable.

the drop off from zeller to some 7 foot Eastern Euro we pick from names out of a hat would (1. at least be interesting. 2 maybe hit the 4th place in the power lotto if he can play at all).

That’s exactly what Liddell and Matkovic are. They also will probably sign Robbins to a 2 way contract this year and he’s a 7 footer that was SEC DPOY.

I've never seen a fanbase have a legit melt about a 14/15 guy on a min contract

Seriously, I’m glad there’s enough Pels interest to get a 5 page thread on signing Cody Zeller, but it truly isn’t worth it.

He's literally taking Garrett Temple's spot and people seem to be off the rails

"I can't believe we got Zeller when Biyambo was available"

We've hit the dregs of the offseason already

Your definition of a "melt" is what is funny. Just because a fan does not like a signing is not a "melt." I do not see anyone going overboard with their disagreements (which is what I would consider a "melt").

His point is that any emotion towards a vet min contract who is our 15th roster spot is a joke.

Now the laughable thing is that people are saying we “wasted a roster spot”. Well ok that’s fair our only other options are rookies. So what if we don’t sign Zeller? Well we may end up signing Matkovich and Robbins. The same people have already said “put them on 2 way that’s wasting a roster spot”.

What the hell do some of y’all want?

Our only option to “not waste roster spots” in some of y’all’s mind is trading for Jokic, Ayton, Embid.

Anything less is just devastating to some.

So fans should only care about certain players or spots? That is silly. I have not seen anyone go off the deep end. I see nothing wrong with saying they do not like the signing or would prefer another player. If they get overly emotional about it, that is "melting." Discussing it civilly is not a melt.

Saw no one say anything close to that.

Im sure they would rather come play here than not be signed anywhere as they currently are.

That assumes they don't have talks lined up and/or could sign with other teams. Because they haven't done so yet does not mean they won't or don't have a sense that they will.

The Dame situation is still preventing some teams from making signings that would cut into their flexibility.

You are highly under estimating how many millionaires in the world would rather be unemployed > choose to ride NOLA’s bench and have to stay in New Orleans for a year.

Edit: *NBA millionaires in the world(should have just said nba). The vet mins with gas in the tank are going to chase titles on contenders. And some of the other vet mins that have been around may rather retire than be 5th string in Nola.

I do. Because not one of those people have given a “realistic” solution.

“We hate Zeller” “we hate our rookie options”

Well then what the frick do you suggest?

“Someone better than Zeller”

Do people think our front offense DIDNT think about this first? Do people think we DIDNT try to find someone better than Zeller?

Yes because they are literally being emotional. They are getting upset for no reason. They have absolutely no reason to get emotional because we have no other option.

If we could have signed a free agent center better than Zeller WE WOULD HAVE. And the people crying about upgrading from Val are also crying about depth.

Y’all think we gain depth by trading Val, Nance, draft picks and cap space for Allen or another type of center?

New Orleans is a shithole, but I’m betting 99.99% of players would be willing to take 3 plus million to “live” there for a year.
