I actually like that deal...could flip Rozier to another team (Philly or Toronto makes sense)

Getting more than a good player, great young talent (on a full rookie deal) and 2 unprotected 1sts isn't going to be easy unless he has a couple years of MVP-level play (60+ games/year)

Trading Zion in the division seems like a non starter,
FWIW, I do not want to trade Zion, was just pointing out if we decide to trade Zion, that is the most realistic one I've seen that I like the most for us.

Would you roll with Scoot if I told you he's going to hav 2 concussions, an ankle injury and a nasal fracture in the same timeframe?
Yes. On a normal player, that is less than a half a season of injuries all together. Heck, most players wouldn't miss more than a week with a broken nose. Zion's gout flares up, he'll be missing months at a time.
I love that at this point we are all supposed to treat Zion's injuries as common and freakish at the same time, like it happens to all players. Just bad luck..

Not a bad deal, but we would have to dump Rozier somewhere as we would have zero use for him and his 25 million contract.

I mean yeah that's still a bottom of the barrel trade. I'm not a huge scoot believer like most though. The brklyn 1sts would he huge.

We're going to have to take back salary in any Zion deal right? I think you can definitely move Rozier if you go looking for another wing or big.

Rozier doesn’t have a ton of value which is why he was mentioned as part of a Westbrook trade last year.
If we are taking a big contract that could be movable, take Heyward instead.

Does Hayward have a ton of value? I guess his contract is expiring, but he’s probably a worse player on a larger deal than Rozier
I think either one would probably help us off the bench this season

quote:Yea, Rozier has 2 years left and Hayward 1, so assuming 1 of those 2 would be a salary match in a Pels trade, the Pels should only do the deal if they're getting the Hayward expiring back and it should be a no go otherwise IMO.

Depends on how much help we think Rozier would be.
Eating a larger contract this season means possibly flipping it for other pieces later whereas taking on Rozier means we are likely stuck with him if we don’t really want him.
After the whole Bledsoe situation, I don’t really want Rozier here if he doesn’t want to be here and he isn’t in our plans.

To be fair I think Rozier is much better defender and scorer than Bledsoe was when he got him. Plus there are teams that were rumored to like him (like phoenix) so I could see him being flipped down the line.

Unless we get Ayton for Rozier, I don’t see them having much to offer.

I mean that's a hell of a lot better than most of the shitty Zion trades.

Why would Charlotte do that?

They get Jaylen Green for dropping down two spots. If they aren’t going to take Scoot anyway, one could argue Green as the better prospect over Miller. Much less the possibility for both, or for Green and Cam etc.

I would do any deal involving #2 and Zion. I'm ready to move on.
Posted on 6/20/23 at 1:37 pm to CP3forMVP
I honestly dont think hornets want him. I think we dont do deal with hornets, they take miller. Then real negotiations begin with Portland. I think blazers really want Zion.

Doubt anything major happens.
