Do people remember Jax is still learning this game he hasn't played as long as most other cats..I like his toughness myself once I seen him run over lobrane that was it

Hayes’ problem is he appears to be thick between the ears. Not a whole lot you can do about that...

it’s what’s keeping him from taking positive meaningful steps forward as a basketball player. And is what will likely keep him from getting the extension he surely wants.

Going to come down to him. I am not in favor of trading him prior to the team making a reasonable offer to extend. If he turns it down so be it and they can start shopping him

The one thing these trades would do, is give us plenty of size in the backcourt. Most of these guys or in the 6'5 to 6'7 range and would be replacing two of our smaller players in Graham and Kira.

We know what Jax is, but Reed still has room to grow, and Korkmaz is ready for a larger role. Personally I think Philly would say no.

Jaxson is 21, Paul Reed is 22.

So why is Jaxson already at his ceiling, while Paul Reed is still developing?

A trade I like depending on how the draft board shakes out

Pels get #16 (Sochan, Daniels, Dieng here) and Huerter

Hawks get #12 (Duren, J. Williams make sense here), Dort, and Hayes

OKC gets #8 (Mathurin) and Graham

I think ATL is getting too much value in this deal. I'd personally rather Dort than Huerter, so I'd just rather cut Atlanta out of the deal and trade down to 12 instead of 16.

I remember and think the potential is still there. The problem is Jaxson Hayes was our worst player by a considerable margin in the suns series. Despite making 6 starts, he played only a total of 84 minutes in a series where we were getting destroyed by points in the paint off pick n roll. And entering his 4th year Hayes is due to make some real money.

I hate ending the Hayes experiment prematurely, but he is a bad, bad player right now. If the Pels want to cut bait on Hayes and draft sochan/duren/williams to be a cost effective defensive big I can’t blame them for that approach.

FOR LAKERS:
Los Angeles Lakers Receive:
F/C John Collins
G/F Kevin Huerter
2023 first-round pick (top-five protected)

Atlanta Hawks Receive:
F/C Anthony Davis
Man I really hope this happens. LA would be even worse. Their best bet is getting Tony healthy. We're getting a top 5 next year boys!!

So if Hayes didn’t play, who was CP3 wearing out on the PNR ? I actually thought it hurt the team defensively limiting Jax’s minutes, but the decision came down for more shooting on the court.

So going off Shamit’s Bamba idea I like this offseason for the Pels…saves a little money now but more in 2023

Draft Mathurin, Spagnolo (stash), and Foster

Trade Graham and Temple for Bamba in a sign-and-trade

Trade Hayes for Alec Burks and a future pick

Sign Foster to roster with part of the MLE

CJ / Jose / Kira
Herb / Burks / Mathurin
BI / Trey / Naji
Zion / Nance / Foster
JV / Bamba / Willy

Saves $2m or so this year while gaining a better shooter and defender in Burks and the potential replacement to JV in Bamba

Put me down as in favor of ANYTHING...that sends Hayes somewhere else.

I’m interested to see what Kira looks like this upcoming season.

He reclassified to come early at Bama and looked overwhelmed at times that first year, but showed a very balanced game and was leading the team by the second and doing a pretty good job replacing Colin Sexton, averaging like 20ppg and 6ast in conference play.

He isn’t as confident, or brash, as Colin but is an easy dude to like in the locker room and has a lot of talent if he is healed up, so it won’t surprise me if he takes a bigger step forward than many fans expect.

He has shot like crap from 3pt so far, but is a mid 80s free throw guy and was a quality shooter in college, so I just don’t expect him to be a sub 30% 3pt guy permanently. I hate he got hurt last season, but I certainly wouldn’t sell low on him right now until getting a bit more of a look.

It's very likely he's just not the guy for us.

You need a good bit of minutes to show you can play, and there's likely just not enough minutes for him to get that chance.

it's pretty clear he's not going to end up being a starter on a playoff team.
Doesn't mean he can't be a good backup and be a contributor, but he's got a ways to go to even get to that level.

I do'nt want to sell low on him either, but he's going to have a hard time finding minutes this year unless there are injuries, especially if we draft a guy that plays PG/SG

Kira was showing promise prior to his injury. 8 pts, 2 rbs, 2 asts, and a steal on 48% shooting in his last 11 games in 16 minutes a night. I don’t know if he had just hit a hot stretch (he did the same thing as a rookie) or if he legitimately turned a corner, but it was promising nonetheless.

I mean… I see a clear path to a bench role on a team with very few traditional PGs

Kira is the age of a lot of the guys coming out of the draft thing year. He is a better developmental piece than Alvarado, for example

Kinda wish we knew where Kira is at with his recovery. He was injured in January so it seems extremely unlikely he would be ready to for Summer League.

So its gotta be the hope that he can participate fully in Training Camp. He's likely going to miss a lot of work out time with the team but he will just have to earn it in practice.

I was never as a big a Kira fan as many, and I've only grown more skeptical as time has gone on, but no way would I sell low on him at this point. Just like Jaxson.

I still see his ceiling as closer to Shroder than Fox or some of the other players I saw mentioned, but if we got a Shroder on this team, that's not a bad player to have.

Season's are also long and our three best players have all had injury issues in recent years, so, I imagine he will get his opportunities if he continues to improve his game.
