Considering Jose an integral piece of the rotation going forward is a mistake, imo

Kira is also a big unknown as well. Maybe they think he eventually develops when he is healthy.

Solid shooter AND solid defender...just saw some TV talking head talking about downside to CJ trade. Said Herb can guard all 5 players on the other team...just NOT at the same time. Huerter should help in this area.

Shamit and Mason are saying the same rn on their green room podcast in regard to letting Nance go for a shooter like Huerter because the front court is kind of congested right now and we need more guards. He fills a lot of needs for us. Idk if we’ll actually get him but it’s wishful thinking

But why? He knows his role, is a defensive menace, turns over EVERYBODY and comes in with high energy if he gets 5 minutes of 30 minutes... I am not making him a starter but I sure wouldn't mind if we locked him up for a few years. Oh, did I mention he simply doesn't turn the ball over.

This is why sold me. He is a net positive with the ball in his hand.

Haven't we done this a couple of times? Kenrich, Naji, now Jose. I mean, I like the kid, but I wouldn't rest anything meaningful on him.

Because I'm a loser and really enjoy watching NBA basketball.
Also, I make 10 leg player parlays on at least 1 game a night. Charlotte usually starts at 7 and I like watching most of their players.

Jose has shown actual skill(leads nba in one offensive category and one defensive category) has a positive win share(naji and kenrich didn't come close) and has a top 10 rookie PER.
Its a little different

Remember how NAW as a starter last year meant he was destined for SG greatness? Ready to supplant Lonzo?
Lets see how Jose looks when teams have scouting reports on him and start paying attention.
We've seen too many underdog feel-good stories go sideways once that happens.

Having already moved Norm Powell and CJ McCollum, Portland is still engaged in conversations with Detroit on acquiring forward Jerami Grant, sources said.

Why the hell would they want grant?
Posted on 2/8/22 at 3:31 pm to LosLobos111
I mean they are trying to thread the needle of not paying the luxury but still win with Dame.
Dame, Simons, Hart, Grant, and Nurkic is a solid group.
Defense, offense, shooting, passing. Its a much more balanced roster than the undersized guard heavy unit they had before.
Not sure what it would take to get Grant, but if Dame gets healthy, thats a unit that can be a real pest in the Western Conference.

Celtics want Malik Beasley
Price would probably be Nesmith and Richardson
Heating up per legion hoops

Brad Stevens has made a push for #TWolves’ wing Malik Beasley because he wants another defensive weapon on the perimeter. Beasley’s just 25 years old + a career 38% 3-point shooter. With Jayson Tatum/Jaylen Brown’s shotmaking, Beasley would get tons of open looks w/the #Celtics.

Depends on what we give up. Grant is a good player on a manageable contract.
I’d rather finish as a bottom three team this year though. Sit Dame, let Simons run the team and sort it out this offseason.

Are you all considering keeping Nurkic?
I agree, not sure what you have to give up to get Grant(probably picks and maybe re-route NAW), but I honestly like that lineup for you all next season.
Like a lot.

The problem with Grant is that he has made it crystal clear he wants a huge new contract extension and that he wants to be the centerpiece of whatever team he goes to.
This is a good chunk of why Detroit hadn’t found a taker so far, as what they want combined with what Grant wanted was too rich for many teams.
