When the hell did Kyle Lowry become a superstar? Dudes ancient and if he’s the prize of free agency you know it’s a bad crop.

Go after guys like Powell, Hardaway Jr., Mcdermott, other shooters, then match Lonzo

If the Bulls are offering 4/80, you would have to match that. I am not the biggest Lonzo fan, but I think I'm okay giving him $20 million year. Nothing more than that though.

Wish gary trent jr was available.

Seems like toronto is going to re-sign him.

It's almost a blessing in disguise that lowry will be gone. You don't want to pay him at 37,38.

Yeah, I don't want to sign someone like Schroeder or Dinwiddie to an overpriced, long term deal. If you can't get your lead guard then get the best values at the other positions of need like shooting and hope NAW and Kira can improve enough to get you the P&R creation the team is lacking.

dinwiddy if you believe the chatter.
I’m OK with that, he’s competent and will cost less

that’s banking on Lewis getting better quickly

Miami's status as the favorite to land Kyle Lowry was only enhanced by the decision to pick up Goran Dragic's option for next season, league sources say.

A sign-and-trade with Toronto for Lowry centered around Dragic's $19.4MM deal for next season is an obvious route to a deal.

Lowry is known to be close to Jimmy Butler, and Butler really wants Lowry on the Heat, so we might lose out on Lowry even if we offer the most money.

That’s basically makes it seems like WOJ knows it’s a done deal, but can’t announce it officially due to tampering rules.

Not going to lie, while Lowry hypothetically could be a great addition for us. I do have strong concerns that if he did choose us, (again, looks more and more like Miami is his landing spot all but officially) he might have just been chasing the highest bag/ start to coast. Especially on a three year guaranteed deal.

My preference now would be to see if we can swing a trade for brogdon, and s&t ball for Markkanen if the bulls give Zo over 22 mill a year.

Well it seems like Miami/Lowry is a done deal.

I think I’m more scared of what Griffin will do in his pivot than paying Lowry. He could get desperate coming up short and a lack of options.

Nothing would be as disastrous as tiring up $90 million in an ancient over the hill pg.

As long as Chicago is offering 20 or less to ball we are good. I can't see anyway we let ball walk without a surefire starter to replace him. Now that Lowry is off the table (Thank god) matching ball is the clear move.

It's really hard to figure out how much of the Chicago interest has been from Chicago vs. Klutch. If it was more Klutch than the Bulls, not having Lowry making it more likely we match might kill the idea of an offer sheet completely.

No way the 4/80 deal rumor came from Klutch, that came from the Bulls. Klutch would never put that low of an offer out there.

The one thing this Lowry to Miami thing does it put serious pressure on the Bulls to add more to a S/T because they know the Pelicans are now more inclined to keep Lonzo. Would be nice if we get a third team involved so we don't have to take the Bulls' trash

Also it isn’t that easy. What if:

Lowry to to Miami.

Lonzo/Klutch work on deal with Chicago that has a poison pill. Chicago says either ST him to us for a minimal amount or we sign him to an offer with a PP.

Pacers aren’t interested in a Brogdon trade.

Then you’re in a bad spot.

yes and no. you'll continue to get crucified by the media who want zion out of new orleans and the pressure on griffin would be through the roof.

short term, the pressure would be immense to get someone, long-term, keep your powder dry and wait until the deadline or next free agency.

When I said “you’re” I meant Griffin. He’s in a rough spot.

I think I try and get Powell at that point and just add as many good vet players I can like McDermott and Green etc

Put together a solid team that compliments BI and Zion and still have your assets and highly tradeable contracts.

I don’t get how the Goran deal helps Miami at all, they could’ve already cleared space to sign Lowry without it. Goran doesn’t make enough for a straight up S&T with Toronto to make sense.
