And, without LeBron, they lose to the Thunder. Yeah, the team that's starting the ghost of Derrick Favors at center and is still in tank mode -- that team.

If only we had 1-14 protection on that pick

Lakers are currently down 31 at the end of the 3rd to the Blazers. No LeBron and AD is out for the rest of the game with a "stomach illness". They'll still be 5-5 after the loss, so they aren't exactly in danger, but they definitely look vulnerable.

Totally agree. Do their two best players have a history of winning?

They were lucky to fire off a few early wins playing an incredibly soft schedule. The next three weeks will give a better idea of if they're going to contend or not.

Half of their games have been played against the Rockets, Spurs, and Thunder, who are a combined 6-20.

We'd be better than 5-5 if we'd played their schedule, that's for sure. Their wins are over the Cavs, Grizzlies, Spurs, and Rockets (twice).

Heck, the Thunder are 2-6, and their only wins are over the Lakers.

Yeah, we've had a ROUGH schedule to start the season. Combine that with fluffy and BI missing time, and well, you get 1-9.

With the Lakers schedule we're definitely better than that even with the injuries.

lakers also get mostly home games first month of play.

This is the beginning of the end for James. Couldn't be happier to see it.

The nagging injuries started last year. Now this one.

His days as a top 10 player are practically over.

With BI healthy? Possibly, but we’ve been pretty bad so I wouldnt say its a given. With BI and Zion I’d like to think we’d be better than 5-5

Yeah I'm not convinced this team as is(No BI, No Zion) beats the Thunder.

Rockets, yes, probably...maybe, most likely I think. Spurs? eh, maybe. I'd go 50/50

13 games left in this month. Wiz, Jazz and Clips twice apiece. Wiz are actually having a great year. Heat and Nets are in there. Its not an easy stretch. Hopefully we get Ingram back tonight or the next game against the Thunder. Without him, I don't know if we get either of those two.

If Zion is back 12/1 (highly optimistic) we will be 23 games in. I'm thinking we will be 5-18. December looks easier. We will have to get 8 or 9 wins that month to be within striking distance (13-23). Any further back than that would take a huge amount of luck to get into the play-in.

Well the Thunder have 4 wins now and beat us.

Lakers just beat one of the best teams in the league and Westbrook did ok (25/12/14, 2 TOs from a quad-double)..

Heat were missing Jimmy Butler and others and Duncan Robinson kept missing free throws.

Another lucky win by the Lakers tbh.

Another absence for the Lakers: Rookie Austin Reaves has a strained left hamstring and will miss at least two weeks.

So, the T-Wolves had been on a six-game losing streak. They dominated the Lakers 107-83 last night---and at the Staples Center too.

Westbrook had 3 assists and 5 turnovers, lol. His +/- was -32.

Carmelo shot 1-12 for 3 points.

Overall, the Lakers shot 35% from the field and 22% from 3.

The third quarter started with a 29-4 run by the T-Wolves. Asked about that quarter, AD said:
quote:

"We sucked. No defense. Can't score. That's not just this third quarter, it's every third quarter we've played this season. We come out slow, lackadaisical offensively and defensively. We got to get it together. Why? I can't tell you. But we got to do a better job."

[Edit]

This was a fun troll.
