Yep. That's why I said they are going to get over 30 wins. Probably around 40 or so. They aren't playing .300 ball the rest of the year..

We obviously have no shot at the pick if AD and LeBron stay reasonably healthy. If they don't, the question will be for how long. That's when it will get interesting.

AD is a bitch

quote:

He just clicks," Anthony Davis said of Westbrook's midgame adjustments. "I don't know if he sees a matchup he likes, or someone's talking to him on the other team, or a fan. I'm not sure. But whatever it is, we just need that the entire game because it helps us."

you still lost, yet you ask Westbrook to do more than score 31, get 13 boards and dish out 10 assists.
Maybe do better than 20/6 AD.

I don't know. They're 9/10 now. They only have 1 win against a good team, Miami. Their wins have largely come against bad teams. Like GOP said it's all about how healthy they are.

Also, #11 (where the Lakers currently sit in the lottery) has a 9.4% chance at a top pick, #14 has a 2.4% chance. So the flattened lottery odds change things a little too. It took me 2 spins on Tankathon to get the Lakers to jump from #11 to #2. I'm not saying it will happen, but there actually is a chance now that the lottery favors the field.

Everything changes when James comes back. I'm not dismissing them until he falls off the cliff. I know it'll happen. But it hasn't yet and he is obscenely blessed. He can easily carry them to a 8-10 game win streak. Also they will get favored status come buyout time and their roster will be upgraded.

I want them to fail as bad as everybody else. But I can't talk it into existence. They have too many advantages. Their reckoning is coming. It just seems early right now..

Come buyout time if they are not in contention they will not be in play for vets looking for rings. They are an old team and if injuries keep happening they big 3 will log too many minutes. They plan on resting until playoffs.

I dunno, Lebron is starting to show his age as the injuries are popping up pretty rapidly. We all know AD will miss time throughout the season, and without 1 piece of the big 3 they've shown they're pretty much garbage.

AD isn't playing today, because he has a fever. With 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, they are losing by 9 to the Pacers.

They ended up winning in OT. They are 6-3 when James plays. I'm sure he will miss more time this year. But if he's playing they will be competitive..

The Lakers are back under .500 and lost to the Kings last night.

quote:

Ramona Shelburne @ramonashelburne 8h

James Worthy on the postgame show after the Lakers triple OT loss to the Kings. “I just want to go home....that is not team basketball. That is not a winning formula.”

We are still in November, the Lakers are 3 games out of the 3 seed and stuff like this is getting said. That's not pessimism, that's seeing cracks in the foundation.

They're falling apart right in front of our face. AD doesn't want to play defense, can't shoot, Westbrook has fallen off a cliff, and Lebron is banged up all the time, and they're surrounded by a bunch of over the hill guys.

They have a losing record having played the 27th easiest schedule so far (ber BBall Ref), and having 3 all nba players with 2 all nba guys available every game.

Love it

They really are one of the easiest teams to hate in all of pro sports.

Lakers message board.

"Not sure what fits next to LeBron at this stage of his career, but AD and Russ are not it. I'd like to see a December/January trade to try to save this season before it is too late."

"Russ has been playing very well of late, and the way AD is playing, he is not a fit anywhere.

But yeah, it's time to explore some AD trades. There are plenty of teams out there that would (foolishly) give up good assets for AD still. A couple of very good players next to Bron and Russ would be working out very nicely right now."

"Yeah AD, we're tired of your lazy arse soft game, excuses and post-game statements about doing better and playing harder too. Man, just shut up and bring it in the games instead of making these sorry arse statements and looking like a fool."

Add this to the National media getting frustrated and finally seeing/calling AD for what he is---ahh beautiful

One more one more---sooo good hahaha

"This will be a very unpopular comment, but lets really analyze the 2020 championship team's playoff run. The Blazers were red-hot up until their matchup with the Lakers, but lets be real... They're the Blazers. They always fold like lawn chairs in the playoffs. Then the Lakers played the Rockets, who inexplicably trotted out a midget-sized team haha. All the Lakers did was end the worst Daryl Morey experiment of all-time. The Nuggets series was probably the only "real" test the Lakers faced, but even then, they were a team that was just coming into their own... Then the Lakers got to face a cinderella 5th-seed Miami Heat in the playoffs.

Look, I hate to downplay any of our team's rings, but lets be real. Our expectations are too high for this team. Lets face it, the Lakers just aren't that good, and our expectations of this team are still clouded by the bubble ring. Bron is still effective, but is dangerously close to dropping out of the top-5 current players. Russ is Russ... He's incredibly flawed as a player, but I will admit I can NEVER question his heart or determination... At times, those two factors alone make him the best player on the court... And AD, oh my god. Where do I start with AD. I've never been more frustrated watching him play. Earlier this season, I was dragging Russ through the mud, but AD has decided to jump off a diving board head-first into quicksand. If he ever becomes the true face of the Lakers when Bron retires, we will all need therapy haha. I dunno man. This is the ultimate low point for this Lakers era, in my opinion... And don't forget, this is still in the midst of by far the easiest stretch of the season"

I'm sure he'll turn this around. If we know anything about AD it's how he responds to adversity.

Yea he'll come out firing over the next couple of games and then he'll revert back to his passive self.

That's just his innate nature---he doesn't have that dog in him that's needed 70-80% of the genes you play a year. he has it maybe 20-30% of the time. This is bad because he's hurt another 20-30% of the season.

Even if I were a Lakers fan, I don't see how I could get LeBron higher than 7th.
