That’s a name I’m glad we never got.

IIRC, he was one of the preferred draft candidates back when we made the Jrue trade in 2013.

I think it says something that 2 years in a row 2 teams moved on quickly from Wood despite him seeming to be worth keeping around based on his play.

indeed
after the season him re signing with DET seemed like a fait accompli.
I mean, they are starved for young legitimate NBA talent, and it seems like they moved on from him at the first possible second

that’s telling

The Athletic's John Hollinger thinks the Pelicans could perhaps make a play for John Collins following the Danilo Gallinari signing by the Hawks. "One can imagine teams such as Dallas, New Orleans, Phoenix, Charlotte and New York all being interested"

Looks like pure speculation from Hollinger with the wording and teams listed, but Lots of people are assuming Atlanta's moves means they are moving on from Collins.

He is not a bad fit. But I have it on good authority that his agent is telling the Hawks he is a younger Siakam and therefore will not take less than the max. So, when you consider he will cost assets AND a max contract.....no
