Hmmm...how do we feel about Whiteside if we don’t get Baynes?

not a chance.

I'd really prefer Meyers Leonard over Baynes and Ibaka.

I’d prefer Plumlee over Whiteside and about 30 other guys.

He’s a terrible fit in my opinion.

I don’t know why you guys keep doing this. This staff has been consistent about not bringing players with questionable character into this locker room. This won’t change anytime soon.

I'll never understand how people are so against Whiteside but so for Wiseman

He started all year in Miami until they traded for Igoudala and started playing small ball with Crowder at the 4.

He's shot 41%, 45%, and 42% the last 3 years from 3, an actual proven 3 point threat. He is a good defensive rebounder.

he is a great locker room guy, and a great teammate that you know will give it his all at all times.

He without a doubt fits the culture we want.

I would take him for a backup role, but we don't have a Bam to make up for his bad defense.

Haven't seen the updated date, but it was a week after free agency was supposed to begin, so maybe it's the same

I was thinking similarly EC, but everything is condensed so it may be less than a week from today

feeling great.
I don't expect any FA pickup at the 5 to be playing much more than 15-20mpg. Hayes needs to get his minutes, and we need to play some small ball, meaning we need to find that SF/PF, like a Crowder or Grant. Leonard would be a perfect compliment to that, as would Ibaka, as would Baynes, in that order, i just prefer Leonard b/c i know he's the most reliable and best shooter. Baynes literally just learned how to shoot 3's at age 32.

We are going to be at our best when Zion is at the 5, and i'm pretty sure he will be so effective at it, that we will force teams to go small against us, so Zion or anyone else won't be having to guard 250+lb centers b/c they won't be in the game.

I’m interested in seeing how quickly after FA starts we get mentioned. JJ was one of the first announced because he decided wanted to be a Pel pretty quickly. I’m hoping we see the same thing from a decent FA this year.

Same, I think JJ was the first reported.

I expect an Ingram announcement pretty soon after too.

maybe dumb question -- but why is Favors not mentioned at all?

We started picking up some steam when he came back from injury, but seems like he's regarded as a pariah around here now..

There were times during the season and in the bubble where he just looked so slow and un-athletic. He was always a step behind what was going on.

I think he's a fallback option, with Zion's shooting limitations we kinda need a 5 that can stretch the floor. So while Favors is a defensive fit, he's not the best offensive fit.

Did you watch the bubble games at all? Favors looked rough and very immobile. Maybe he was injured, but it looked really bad.

Favors is the type that probably needs a full offseason, full camp, and full preseason to get ready. I’d stay away from the guy especially this year. He needs too much ramp up time for a guy who should be in his prime years.
