I don't know why but over the years I've come to actually like "We Built This City" much more than when it was first released, probably due to it's overbaked reputation as "worst song ever". The video is awful and some of the lyrics are goofy but it is about a million light years away from the worst song. It's not even really Starship's worst song.

Agreed. The POINT for the line is that because they rejected school, they aren't smart enough to work out the rhyme scheme. It's kind of meta as it comments on it's own ignorance.
