Mozart. Then Hendrix or Duane.

Was Shannon Hoon considered talented?

Jim Croce mentioned yet?
He put out a lot of material in a short time.

I'd like to thank everyone for not mentioning Amy Winehouse. I hate when I see those collages on Facebook of great musicians that died too young asking "If you can only see one, who would it be?" and they throw Amy Winehouse in there with many mentioned on this topic as if she's fricking worthy.
She wouldn't be mentioned on here as she was a female. So I'm not sure why this deserved such a post.

Definitely not most talented musician by any means.
But to go against the grain of this board and post a Hip Hop artist in here. I would definitely add Mr. Biggie Smalls himself. I liked Pac, but he was too much of a hothead, always into something. Big on the other hand just focused on the music more. Long term if they both survived Big definitely would have had the better career.

Agree on Biggie having more potential than Pac. Big L and J Dilla were two others that could have been huge.

Uhh no.
Dying earlier than the average non-celebrity is not the same thing as dying remarkably early.

One person that no one's going to mention is Michael Hedges.

Not sure of the OP's definition...but I considered under the age of 45, dying early. TVZ was over 50 when he died.

Gershwin. George (who died at 38), not his brother Ira (who died at 86)!

Was totally coming to mention her. Just to be an a-hole. Surprised some asshat hasn’t brought up Kurt Cobain either.

Hendrix if you go read up on the things he was planning on doing before his death it would have been out of this world
