Barber Motorsports Museum

Best motoring museum in the world, such a hidden gem.
I vote for an Irish twin in 2026!
Yep. He's walking around in the paddock today, so good news. He won't be racing but formed a new team with Davey Todd this year, so I'm sure they appreciate his support.

He crashed last year while I was there during the Senior, but was unharmed. The radio announcement came across about 20 minutes after word got out of the crash..."Peter Hickman's team wants to let everyone know that he's alright and has made his way to the pub."

I don't know how closely you follow it, but Michael Dunlop is my guy. There's talk that he may be sandbagging during qualifying because his times/ speeds are off the pace a bit. He's on all new setups for all classes except Supertwin. We'll see.

Dean Harrison is screaming through qualifying. Seems like the man to beat.

Usual weather issues have the schedule pushed.

Anywhere to stream this?

You can get TT+ by subscription for about $30 for the year. Great content, including previous years, documentaries, commentary, etc.
You can access it on any device, including smart TV's.
I'm watching on Roku live as I write this.

Qualifying now.

Races all week after today.

There's a 6 hour time difference from CST, but they replay the days events if you don't want to be hardcore like me. I'll be up in the wee hours all week.

It's very good coverage, but I'm missing being there. Already decided to be back there next year.
I was there last year.

It's the greatest motor racing event in the world and I'll fight anyone who disagrees.

Big fan of everything I've ever bought from Swazi...
Swazi
Whenever I have questions like these, I find it best to turn to The Word.

I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

-Revelation 3:15-16

Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36And a person’s enemies will be those of his own household. 37Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

-Matthew 10:34-39

Jesus wasn't a hippie. He is the same God that judges, destroys, casts out, annihilates, and yes... loves.

God of our fathers, known of old,
Lord of our far-flung battle-line,
Beneath whose awful Hand we hold
Dominion over palm and pine—
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!

The tumult and the shouting dies;
The Captains and the Kings depart:
Still stands Thine ancient sacrifice,
An humble and a contrite heart.
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!

Far-called, our navies melt away;
On dune and headland sinks the fire:
Lo, all our pomp of yesterday
Is one with Nineveh and Tyre!
Judge of the Nations, spare us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!

If, drunk with sight of power, we loose
Wild tongues that have not Thee in awe,
Such boastings as the Gentiles use,
Or lesser breeds without the Law—
Lord God of Hosts, be with us yet,
Lest we forget—lest we forget!

For heathen heart that puts her trust
In reeking tube and iron shard,
All valiant dust that builds on dust,
And guarding, calls not Thee to guard,
For frantic boast and foolish word—
Thy mercy on Thy People, Lord!

Where are you staying?

No decisions have been made about any stays or sightseeing.

We're going to be on the Isle of Man for the TT races the week before and fly into Edinburgh to start a week of touring. The only things we've discussed are distillery tours, seeing the ruins of St. Andrews Cathedral, castles, and perhaps some fly fishing.

Open to any suggestions.
My wife and I are planning a trip to Scotland and want to tour some distilleries in the different regions (Islay, highlands, Speyside, lowlands, etc).

Have any of you done this and would make a recommendation for the path you chose?

Rent a car?
Hire a tour company?

(Also posted on Food and Drink Board)

I know this seems like a travel board question, but I suspect there are scotch drinkers here that can help.

Thanks
Taxation is Robbery by Frank Chodorov

Hard to argue that taxation of any kind is moral, regardless of the arguments of being necessary.

We are not citizens of our communities, but rather we are subjects of the federal government.
quote:

what exactly makes you think that?

He's been ready. His ego won't allow him to go out a loser and by his standard anything short of a championship season is going out a loser.
This is his chance to retire on top. The landscape is changing. He knows it's going to be harder and harder to consistently dominate.
...and why we should want them to win.

Even if believe the committee got this wrong and even if you hate (like I do) to see Alabama succeed...

If they win another championship, Saban will retire. I have enjoyed our team battling it out with his Bama teams these last several years, but it won't hurt my feelings to see them tailspin under a series of coaches as they attempt to replace him.
