Gotta play some slow songs for belly-rubbin'....
Keith Whitley's Don't Close Your Eyes
Kevin Sharp's Nobody Knows
Shenandoah's I Want To Be Loved Like That

Then pick up the pace with...
Fishin In the Dark by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Next To You, Next to Me by Shenandoah
Bubba Shot The Jukebox by Mark Chestnutt

The younger crowd probably would like the following (don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger and am not a big fan of current country music):

When It Rains It Pours - Luke Combs

Beer Never Broke My Heart - Luke Combs

Buy Me A Boat - Chris Janson

Whiskey Glasses - Morgan Glasses

House Party - Sam Hunt

Nobody to Blame - Chris Stapleton

Also, if y'all are playing Callin' Baton Rouge, definitely make it your own Parrot Head version. In addition, doing country music versions of late 90's/early 2000's pop punk songs is very in right now. They call it "Y'alternitive"

Finally, please don't play "Brand New Man". It's a great song, but every country band around here plays it in every set. I once worked a music festival in Denham Springs and heard three bands in a row play it.

A little too much personal information in that. I run a lot of the social media (poorly) for the group. Email me drunkencrawfishtd@gmail if you have any questions.

Being in my 40s and living in Houston a lot of the cover bands when I go to certain bars are generally country covers

Having said that I enjoy hearing other genres covered in a country way. Not really honkey tonk but just with country sound I have seen a few bands throw in some 90s pop alt rock with a country flare.

I have heard covers of lemonheads “into your arms” soul asylum “runaway train” and “broken promises”. , toad the wet sprocket “all I want” some gin blossoms and matchbox 20 also

A song I like to play on acoustic that has a country tone is an underrated Mick Jagger solo song called “evening gown”. If you don’t know it look it up and you can see it has country cover band potential.

GA came to Vegas in July. Awesome show he’s got so many hits that are easy to play in a cover scenario.
