The Stones from about 1967 -1981 were Rock N Roll from the music to the lifestyle. Using Hell's Angels as bodyguards at a concert. Getting arrested for pissing in the aisles on a plane and saying you were expressing yourself when you were nothing more than drunk. Keith Richards being drained of his blood to cure himself of a heroin addiction

You cannot get more Rock N Roll than that.....although AC/DC in the Bon Scott era showed promise.

I keep trying to think of some bands, but really I can't disagree with this. You limit it to early AC/DC, but their entire catalog is pure rock and roll. I say this much preferring most other bands to them, but their sound is iconic.

Being born and raised in Australia, hard to argue with Acca Dacca, especially the Bon Scott years.

About 2000 bands. If you can name one you don't like music.

I loved Black Sabbath, but I could never consider them pure RnR, It's just a little more cerebral. To me that puts them in a sub genre.

Their first album is one of the greatest masterpieces of all time.

It's on my Mount Rushmore of Albums.

I think the turning point for Sabbath was children of the grave. At that point they had carved out their own genre which opened the door for what we now know as metal.

We're probably the same generation, but GNR still pops to mind first for Rock and Roll.

All time, Stones or Zeppelin.
