Very subjective question to be sure, but
What band defines rock n roll to you ?

To me, it was the Bon Scott era of AC/DC.

There are a lot of bands more proficient talent wise, but just for the raw rock sound, great lyrics and just general swagger of that band at that time, they would be my choice...

Hmmm...not really sure, BUT whenever I get too drunk, and too stoned, I like slamming The Cramps.

AC/DC, VH, Cheap Trick, all come to mind, and on a different morning, I might give a different answer but..

Only true answer is Black Sabbath. Way ahead of the times.

I loved Black Sabbath, but I could never consider them pure RnR, It's just a little more cerebral. To me that puts them in a sub genre.

Cheap Trick for me. The song writing, the musicianship and the tenacity to keep up the intensity over the years. I saw them in the early 80s, a few times after that and then again last year, and they still rock hard.

Hard to disagree with you about Bon era Acca Dacca.

The one-two punch of “Powerage” followed by “Highway to Hell” is killer stuff.
