"Bread is good with jam people let me tell you where I am" is probably the worst sentence in the history of song writing.

I absolutely can’t stand “Money for Nothing” by Dire Straits - especially the music video.

And it bothers me because, while I’m only familiar with a couple of their songs and I’m primarily a metalhead, Mark Knopfler is a brilliant guitarist - I thoroughly enjoy his finger picking style and “Sultans of Swing” is just a masterful work of art. So I don’t want to hate “Money for Nothing” because it prevents me from diving deeper into their catalogue because I associate them with that one song too much.

"Peg" by Steely Dan. Sterile, overproduced schlock with basic lyrics.

The band should have been called Becker & Fagen & All Their More Talented Friends.

While I appreciate the sentiment, I've never been able to get past the schmaltziness and borderline chipmunk vocals even when I was a kid and it was more prominent on the radio.
