To the people that say there is no good music being made

Are you unaware of bands such as:
The War on Drugs
Young Fathers
Billy Woods
Ty Segall
Kurt Vile
Fever Ray
Thudercat
Armand Hammer
St. Paul & The Broken Bones
Sault
The Arcs
I could go on.
If you can't fine good new music, you're not looking in the right place or you have no interest in acquiring music since the death of the compact disc.

Good addition...I couldn't list them all
Point is, there is a lot of great stuff coming out.
Most of it isn't getting play on terrestrial radio however.

There is always something new coming out. A lot of people here just seem to be stuck in the past.

your list is good...I cannot abide by Courtney Barnett though
I despise Courtney Barnett music

I like a lot of the artists mentioned in this thread, and they do put out "good" music.
What people are missing is "great" music IMO, and I don't think there is a whole lot of that being put out nowadays.

I really love Sault and I've been on Fever Ray for many years.
I saw St Paul and Broken Bones at the Varsity years ago. Good stuff.
I'll also add a few:
Mayer Hawthorne
Durand Jones
DJ Shadow
Body of Light
The Reminders
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
Rod Gator
There's a lot of great artists out now, you just have to dig.

Dirty Honey
Southern River Band
Moon Fever
South of Eden
True Villains
And that’s just a handful of bands specifically in the “new but sounds like classic rock” genre.
I think there may be a lack of a definitive great unique new genre of music, but there is depth of quality being made in many major subgenres of rock n roll right now.

Yes. I've listened to many of those bands and they do not interest me.
And I'm not one of those people...but it has been a struggle the last 5 years or so finding new bands that I am enamored with.

Brothers Comatose - Sugar Please
Brother Comatose- Stuck In The Middle (cover)
I know this type music won't appeal to a lot of you, but this band is legit and really makes some great music.
Here's another video from the singer of the band. Love the guitar at the end !
Ben Morrison - Old Technology

Good way to put it. I'm not sure how much of the decent new stuff coming out has staying power.

New the new music field is deeper but not as good at the top. I would probably have to go back all the way to 2016 for Radiohead's Moon Shaped Pool for last great album (probably overlooking something). Also, the new The Smile album is very good (Bending Hectic, Wall of Eyes, Read the Room especially).

There are some good bands today, I agree. It's just I hate having to go on a trek to find them. Record companies are only interested in rap (and shitty rap at that) so it's impossible to find good music in the mainstream.

I have been more interested in Acapella bands.

Rock fans tend to be pretty loyal. There's no reason these new bands can't be around for 30-40 years if they want to. Plenty of older bands still going strong in the clubs.

+ Phosphorescent
+ Fruit Bats
+ Neko Case
+ Amadou + Mariam
+ Damien Jurado
no good music? that's a statement from a person that doesn't know where to look.
So many streaming stations (KCRW, KTUX, KEXP, Radioooo app and on and on)

Only two I'm familiar with. The first is more or less a loop of the same song over and over again. The second, a talented mimic.
There's lots of talent out there, there's just very few good songs and even less good albums. I listened to a bit of EJ's Goodbye Yellow Brick Road the other day. Nothing today even comes close and it wasn't necessarily the best of it's time.
