Tedeschi Trucks Band is easily as good of a show as Steely Dan would be.

I'd rather see TT than Steely Dan or the Eagles.

Steely Dan in its prime is a thousand times better than TTB but not sure now. Not the biggest Derek Trucks fan. His guitar sounds kind of tinny and metallic, and I unfairly compare him to Duane Allman. Not sure who would be the better live show today. Would love to see either or both. Eagles put on a great show two years ago. Can't remember if they had an opening act back then. I had to miss Stephen Marley and Mike Love at a small venue two weeks ago because of the Ole Miss game. That would have been kind of cool for $35. He plays a lot of his dad's stuff.

No way, I don't want Donald Fagen anywhere near my arse.

I can generally tolerate Steely Dan. But as a kid in the 80s I knew some of their original fanbase, who regarded their work as Great Art (remind you of anybody?), instead of pleasant cocktail pop/pseudo jazz mood music with pretensions.
I actually considered myself a fan back in the day, even went so far as to purchase Can’t Buy A Thrill, Pretzel Logic, and Royal Scam on vinyl with my Columbia House membership
but by the time Aja hit the airwaves the Ramones had debuted, and my musical tastes shifted accordingly

Doesnt look like this thread turned out like you thought it would.
And how did I want it to turn out?
I don’t care a wit about a bunch of pretentious douchebags opinions (Kafka cough cough).
TT was good. I’ve seen them multiple times. Great guitar and mediocre songs.
“You didn’t see the Eagles” is stupid.
The poster who said that has never seen them.
And given that LSU, a two loss team ( now three) shot the bed, I came out pretty good. I don’t plan my life around a bunch of overgrown children playing a game. The fact that some of you do is pretty sad.

Kafka, Geddy Lee’s voice is art unto itself.

Sometimes I like you, this ain't one of em.
But I do enjoy your posts and appreciate a man who knows what he likes.

It is not an objectively pleasing sound but it fits Rush. Nerdy band singing about fantasy type subjects with an elf singing.

right there with you. I just know what I like and don't like. Which sometimes makes me look like a Cretin and I don't care that much if it does.

I often will concentrate on the sounds and appreciate the level of musicianship TTB members display. I was glad to see them combine their bands into one. RIP Kofi Burbridge.

If you're this stupid, you don't need to be commenting on anything having to do with music.

I actually like a lot of Rush's music, but the fans... yeah. I got asked to sit down at one of their concerts by a beta kid dressed like a wizard. This was in a arena and they were four rows up an incline.

Tedeschi Trucks > The Eagles

Tedeschi Trucks are a fricking amazing band. Susan has a killer voice and Derek is the best slide guitarist on the planet and probably second all time behind Duane Allman. Not sure what the problem is. Would much rather see them than Steely Dan.
