One of the amazing things about music is its ability to alter your mood. No matter how shitty my day has been or how awful something I may be going through is, there are a few songs that I can put on that almost immediately just bring me peace. These three immediately come to mind, but there are others. And just to be clear, this is not a declaration of how great these songs are, only a statement on the effect they have on my state of mind.

What are the songs that bring you peace?

Bob Marley "No Woman, No Cry" 1975 live version:

Most of the music I listen to is in an effort to find peace and solace in a chaotic world so I have quite a few.

The whole damn Tea for the Tillerman album as a matter of fact.

Really takes me back to a simple and wonderful time in my childhood.

Probably my favorite Isley Brothers track. You seldom hear acoustic guitar in R&B so it stands out to me:

hard to believe she died at 33 (cancer) and it's been 30 yrs

I’m an unwashed heathen, but early Amy Grant always has a calming effect on me. “Find a Way” from her Unguarded album is the pinnacle. It’s pure 80s schlock. But I love it.

Younger me had some very impure thoughts about her in the late 80s, early 90s.
