The Simpsons episode where Homer has a dalliance with a Grant-esque character was great. She explained her turn to pop music: you just change all the "jesuses" to "babys".

I know it's electronic and electronic usually sort of pumps up the listener, but there's something about this band's music that just calms me down after a stressful day at work (I work as a special ed. teacher with children who have serious behavior problems).
Not sure why, but maybe it's just the repetition and atmosphere of a lot of their songs. Whatever it is, I feel peacefulness when I listen to them.

When my very soul is in pain, my balm is listening to Luther Vandross. I cannot listen to this song without feeling optimistic afterwards! It’s Luther paying homage to his days singing backgrounds for Chic by sampling “My Forbidden Lover”.

Love this one to close out the Morning Phase album. No matter how dark of a day you've had, morning will come soon and it'll be a new adventure and a chance to rebound.

I often use this as my wake up alarm.

Not the original but Linda's version is what first introduced me to this song. Great live version.

That preceded by Man on the Moon/Nightswimming make for one of my favorite three song stretches on an album ever. Find the River is the perfect ending.
