I Thank You by Sam and Dave isn't bad, but the ZZ Top cover is much better.

You really got me. I like the kinks version, but the van Halen version is better especially when it begins with eruption

I like The Allman Brothers Band cover Rain better than the original by The Beatles.

Wild is the Wind

Can't decide between Nina Simone and David Bowie, both versions are powerful.

I know I'm going to catch shite for these...

Cyndi Lauper - I Drove All Night (Roy Orbison)

Concrete Blonde - Little Wing (Hendrix)

Sleepthief with Kirsty Hawkshaw - The Chauffeur (Duran Duran)

And this one only sorta counts since the original artist is singing on it as well...

Placebo - Running Up That Hill (Kate Bush)

I don't know about "better," but that was damn good, surprisingly.

Sweet Jane by Velvet Underground

Whoever that band was (something cowboys), that was their biggest hit, and it was absolutely fantastic. Truly a beautiful song.

Not better than the original however. Simply different, and very, very good.
