Who else is pumped about this tour?!

quote:

Shiny and Oh So Bright will feature three of the four original members of the band — Billy Corgan, guitarist James Iha and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin — playing their best work.

quote:

The Smashing Pumpkins’ setlist will pull exclusively from their first five albums: Gish, Siamese Dream, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, Adore, and Machina/The Machines of God. “This show and staging will be unlike any we’ve ever done, and will feature a set unlike any we’ve ever played. For if this is a chance at a new beginning, we plan on ushering it in with a real bang,” Corgan said in a statement.

I'm def going. AZ is first stop of the tour. Tickets go on sale Feb 23.

I saw them in AZ in 2010 when they performed at one of the casinos. Very good live.

But seeing them with 3 of the 4 original members....yeah will be awesome.

They're basically a glorified Billy Corgan solo band. The other people don't matter. I've seen all the original members, just not at the same time.

I last saw them at Voodoo Fest in 2010 I think. They will be in Atlanta in July so I'll try to catch them then. Great that both James and Jimmy will be back.

Jimmy makes a huge difference. I'm excited to see James back as well. None of the other replacement guitarists could pull it off real well.

Apparently D’Arcy is throwing a huge fit now. She also said something about Billy being mentally ill because he “supports Trump.” It’s funny that she is mad about being left out but also personally insults him about various things that don’t really have anything to do with her rejoining the band. Why would she even want to re-join the band then?

No bassist is named in the press release announcing the tour, however Jeff Schroeder, who joined the band in 2007, will be on board as a third guitarist. Corgan traditionally has played most of the guitar and bass parts on the group’s recordings; the band has had a series of bassists since Wretzky’s 1999 departure.

Since D'arcy is out, it has to be Melissa Auf der Maur. She's more talented and sexier, anyway.

I can't stand Corgan but I'm down for it. Chamberlin is disgusting behind a kit.

It's possible they are booked for Voodoo (don't hold your breathe tho)

They are supposedly only playing songs from their first five albums.

Yep. The lineup and that fact is why I'll be going. Can't wait as I never got to see them during their glory days.

They were terrible live in their glory days. Much better studio band versus live.

Cajundome had the worst sound system in the world in the 90s; and they still put on a good show supporting Mellon Collie in 96
