So just saw on SP's fb page...these two women in the video on the tour page of SP website IS in fact the two little girls on the Siamese Dream album

LINK

quote:

"On such a special day in SP history, I want to take a moment to thank Ali and LySandra, who you might know were the little girls that I stood by and watched have their picture taken some 23 years ago (on what was a perfect LA afternoon). Never realizing that this moment in time would forever tie us, and go on to become such an iconic image in rock history. What's amazing is their chemistry with one another still leaps through the camera to this day and yet if memory serves they'd never met before that Siamese shoot. Which tells me their coming together, and the beauty that Melodie's shot captures, of youth and innocence, was meant to be SP's own, personal lucky star. So thank you thank you thank you Ali and LySandra, we adore you, and having you be a part of today's launch brings tears to my eyes. For life goes fast, and I can still see you in my mind's eye wearing crisp white dresses in a stranger's backyard, looking like little Mother Mary's, smiling and laughing into the sun." - William Patrick Corgan

Damn, I suspected it was the same girls from the album cover when I saw that video, but thought they may have just got two random girls to do it. That is really cool.

Been listening to Gish, Siamese Dream, and Mellon Collie on shuffle all weekend long. Forgot just how many great songs are on those 3 albums. Will be buying tickets as soon as they go on sale this Friday. So pumped for this!

Me too nurse. Such a great run of albums.

I’m still confused a little by D’Arcy’s statements. It just doesn’t make sense why’d they exclude her unless they had a legit reason. I mean, up until a couple years ago, billy and James still hated each other. So obviously they’ve reconciled. I feel like billy has changed a lot after watching his little YouTube tour around southern US last year. He even said he had reconnected with D’Arcy last year and was glad to have her back as a friend. So why would the “rest of the band” decide to not include her. I can’t see this as being a Billy being an a-hole thing because I feel like James would break rank and speak out due to their history. Something is going on with D’Arcy that we don’t know.

Part of the problem is that she's legitimately crazy. All the non-Corgan members of the classic band were horrific drug addicts. Remember the Sarah McLachlan song "Angel" that they always play at the ASPCA commercials? That was about Jonathan Melvoin's overdose. Billy was so angry at Jimmy - Jimmy OD'd that same night, but lived - he fired him from the band and then had to rehire him as a touring drummer because no one was available on short notice.

And Jimmy is the one that Billy could least afford to lose - on most of the classic albums, he played 90%+ of the guitars and probably more than that of bass. James and D'Arcy were overpaid touring musicians for a good bit of that run.

Having said all that, in for a penny, in for a pound - 3/4 of the classic pumpkins seems like weak sauce if D'Arcy is physically capable of going on the road. I suspect she isn't, though.

Yeah, because James and D'Arcy had to play their parts live (and believe me, they were some kind of fricked up doing it most of the time.)

Corgan claims he offered her a contract and she refused. She has since said he needs to do this tour because he lost a lot of money trying to get into the wrestling business. I think that part is probably true. I also think the contract was a low ball offer. The other two probably aren't making much either. The extra guitarist and whoever they bring in bass will get to fight for the scraps.

I'm in. I've seen the original line up 3 times. Can't wait to see Billy and James. Apparently d'arcy is a crack head. Hopefully the brightline speed train station is open in Miami by July so I can hop on that for the ride down from west Palm

Yeah, the biggest SP fans will tell you that they are terribly inconsistent live.

She was, but she's finally clean. That said, Melissa Auf der Maur is the correct answer.

It would be great if they only played Siamese.

Debating on going to Houston or waiting to see if they play Voodoo or making a trip out of this and go someplace like Boston or something. Need to decide by Friday.

Voodoo won't be announced until like June or July at the earliest.. don't roll the dice on that one... they'll probably end up in New Orleans on their next US tour.

I would think the better show would be the one solely for them. Where they have a longer performance than if they were part of a large music festival.

I agree. I've seen them multiple times over the years in all kinds of settings. Just didn't want to travel very far to see them.

Having a hard time believing they can sell out arenas at this point. Hope I'm wrong.

Not a huge fan of MellonCollie, but Gish and Siamese Dream are fantastic albums still in my regular rotation.

Really? Mellon Collie? Usually people say that about Adore or either Machina...weird that you're like that about MC&IS.

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Billy Corgan and all that he does. I celebrate the guy's entire catalog!

I'll be hitting a couple of Texas shows on this tour. What is odd is a lot of these won't be going through ticketmaster, but direct through the venue websites (they all link from ticketbastard though). I hope that doesn't cause any issues...

I feel the same way. MCAIS has some really fantastic songs, but it also has a shite ton of uninteresting filler.
