Just busting ya balls some, do what you think you gotta do. I don’t like the fact that now any average Joe can “make music” by just speaking ideas into a machine. I actually think it’s pretty disgusting to us creative types who’ve been putting in years of work honing our songwriting skills. There was a sense of pride in that that I think now is slowly diminishing. I personally think we’re witnessing the death of all art.

I’m that last carpenter though, firmly clutching my hammer… :dude:
Nasty riffs as usual, love all the New Orleans references in the lyrics. I wish Phillip’s vocals would be more up in the mix though. I actually think that about a lot of Down songs…

Bring on the album!
Auggie, how far have you gotten in this process? I liked your tune a hell of a lot better than the others I heard, (especially the bro country/rap atrocities) which kind of makes me question the validity of the whole thing.

I’ve been on sites before like Taxi, where they’d always give the same general response: “Strong song, really love it, but it’s just not right for THIS listing”. Load of crap and a money grab I thought.

Also, if she does pick your song and doesn’t pass, what are the next steps? Thanks for the solid info, I find this stuff very interesting…

re: Deftones-Eros leaked? Where?

They recently sold their catalog to Warner I believe. It’s being speculated that’s where the leak was from.

I would love if they eventually let it come out, it’s a snapshot in time, the last of the original lineup. Screw perfection & completion, it could be like a bootleg/b-sides album. Us hardcore fans would take that in a heartbeat! :dude:
Huge fan here, since the very beginning…

Was able to hear some of it before it got taken down as I was listening. While definitely a work still in progress, it has that classic Deftones sound, especially with Chi. Probably the only finished song here was “Smile”, but the others I heard were not far off. You could tell Chino was still working out some of the lyrics, but the music was just about there. I would definitely buy it as is. I think under obvious different circumstances, this would have been another killer album from them.

And I have not been able to find it since…
Shoot me an email whenever, I didn’t want to post it here and thread hijack.
Sounds fantastic auggie, I love the emotional power of the sparce arrangement here! Great theme and lyrics also. Very nice tune and very well done so far.

I’d love to pick your brain about how the pitching process works. I have one I finished and put out a few weeks ago that’s getting some nice feedback. It’s just acoustic guitar, bass, and pedal steel, along with my vocals.

Has there ever been a thread here where some of us musicians can share our work with each other? Might be a cool idea…

I fricking hate AI
When I was first getting started, I had a pair of these Audio Engine powered bookshelf speakers. They were fantastic for what they were, I would even bring em out under the carport at times for crawfish boils, etc. Nice detail I thought for smaller speakers. They also make a lesser model if you want to look into that one also.

This was over 10 years ago, I’m sure there’s way more choices to go with, I’m only speaking from experience. I wish I still had em…
