Yep, I saw Pat Green tonight in Royse City, TX. He cried through the entire show, then ended with a stanza of Mr B. Tough night.

Let's go to Luckenbach, Texas
With Willie and Waylon and the boys
This successful life we're livin's got us feudin'
Like the Hatfield and McCoys
Between Hank Williams' pain songs
And Jerry Jeff's train songs and Blue Eyes Cryin' in the Rain
Out in Luckenbach, Texas there ain't nobody feelin' no pain

A great, great man - and a true Texas icon.
Rest In Peace.

My dad remembers watching him sing in Austin and falling off the stage in the middle of a song. Obviously booze was involved.

At my first JJW concert, I was the only kid and he asked over the microphone if it was ok to sing about love-makin’ with a young audience - then waved at me. I couldn’t have been more than 7 or 8. Got a free picture and autograph after the show.

I saw him play in San Marcos. The next night he was on the news in Austin. Silver Mercedes driving the wrong way on the I-35 feeder road in south Austin. JJW behind the wheel got a DWI but epic show the night before!

Like bettin’ on a losing friend
Makin’ the same mistakes we swore we’d never make again.

RIP Jerry Jeff!
You were played loud ALOT in the Kappa Sig house back in ‘75.

Live at Gruene Hall

2nd.

Did he ever record a studio cut of "I feel like Hank Williams Tonight"? I love that song, but never found a studio cut of it. I've got my dad's copy of Live at Gruene Hall and listen too it often.

Also have dad's old Ridin' High vinyl. Dad died a few months ago. I'll always be thankful for the music he shared. Mom found a JJW concert ticket stub in a pair of dads jeans from 2004 the other day.
