Jared Leto is well known long before 30STM became a thing. Jared Leto was an academy award winning actor (later in life but still well known as an actor before 30STM).
The 30STM thing was mostly just a joke/fun time thing when it started. They never really expected it to take off like it did. Many people can know of Jared Leto and happen to remember he made a band and not heard the music. I was a huge 30STM fan before they broke out but even in their biggest times, most of the people in my circles that were rock fans had never heard of 30STM.

Incredible wow.
Just sent some of his videos to my old drummer. Holy shite.
Bonzo is still my favorite though.

Its kinda hard to believe he hadn't heard that song before. I wonder if there's at least a click track?

Perhaps the best active drummer out there. He is so good that other great drummers are even left speechless watching him.
Scroll over to Reddit and read those garage band neckbeards trash him

Pop drummer Domino Santatonio plays Slipknot without ever hearing it before and absolutely kills it
I might be in love

I liked her use of the toms and fills in places even more than the original. And she's only using a single pedal

I said on here 2 1/2 years ago that he was the best drummer on YouTube and got lots of downvotes. Glad people are coming around on him. Dude puts in the work for sure.
And Chad's play is amazing. His dynamics are off the charts.

My favorite comment under the Enter Sandman one is "It's amazing Larnell has more of a grasp on how to play the song after one listen than Lars does after 30 years of playing it"
I hate people's response to that video. Larnell is amazing but there's a reason they gave him one of the easiest beats on The Black Album on 1st listen. Wouldn't have been the same result w/ Disposable Heroes or Dyers Eve. Anybody shitting on Lars hasn't seen Justice or early Black Album live shows.

That was awesome.
An overhead shot of a really talented drummer wailing away is something to behold, especially if you have the slightest bit of musical talent and understand how difficult it is.

Thanks for posting. Normally videos posted here are goofy but not yours. I found that to be wildly entertaining. Appreciate the rabbit hole.

Although I can’t help but feel like he has def heard this song before. I mean hasn’t everybody who ever listened to rock?
Listens to rock and listens to rock radio are not the same thing.
I’m sure he’s heard it in passing or between sets during shows- essentially as white noise- but would not be shocked if a lot of stuff isn’t squarely on his radar like it is for average music consumers.

Speaking of 30STM, Jared Leto was one of the most surprising celebs I found out was from Louisiana.
It’s almost surprising just remembering Jared Leto used to be in 30 Seconds to Mars
