Any Bob Dylan song.
Any Kris Kristofferson song
Any Townes Van Zandt song
None of those MFers can/could sing worth a lick
I don't mind Dylan's voice (in the '60s). Preferable to Geddy Lee.

Metallica - Turn the Page
Metallica - Whiskey in the Jar (although Thin Lizzie's version is great too)
Megadeth - Anarchy in the UK
Muse - Feelin' Good
Quiet Riot - Cum On Feel the Noize
White Lion - Radar Love
Weezer - No Scrubs
Willie Nelson - You Were Always On My Mind and Blue Eyes Cryin' in the Rain
Johnny Cash - Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down
Basically, almost every great country song's most popular version wasn't the original

Both instances had the OG artists saying the remakes I included were superior.
Just saying.

You are so right. I am certain that you would enjoy Ashley Simpson's version of "Tangled Up In Blue" much more than Dylan, because, you know, her voice is better.
I'll bet that you have a copy of Kiss's version of Kris K's "Sunday Mornin Comin Down".

Can't believe it hasn't been listed
Tool No Quarter
Although Zeppelin has a live version on YouTube that's amazing, I like Tools over the album version.

There's a lot of Alice Cooper ones:
Megadeth - No More Mr. Nice Guy
And then a number of years ago (1999), a tribute album was put out.
Dee Snider and Zakk Wylde do an utterly nasty version of Go to Hell
Don Dokken does Eighteen and the production is unreal. (I think we can all agree that Alice Cooper's original production is just lousy.)

Nirvana - Man who sold the world is a great version of that song.

Technically the Stones' version that was originally recorded in December of '69 is the original.
It was held back until Sticky Fingers due to legal shenanigans with Decca records. This is the only reason why Gram was able to put it out on the market slightly before the Stones did.

ooof, give me the Townes version over that overproduced crap you posted. Whitey completely butchers the essence of that song.
