I don't get why Taylor Swift is such a big deal.

I saw on tv today that her current tour may gross between 500M and 1.5B dollars.

Hard for me to believe.

When you're selling tickets with high demand for the prices that they are, believe it.

My wife is a huge fan, has seen every tour Taylor has done. I enjoy some of her music, but after the show in Nashville last weekend, I totally get it. I go to 50-60 concerts a year and it was one of the best that I have ever seen.

Maybe change genres.

She just hits me as Debbie Gibson but with Nashville backing. Weak voice, watered down pop. She's fortunate to be in the musical era she's in.

She's is one of the primary reasons why she is in the musical era she's in.

She’s talented, makes perfectly crafted pop songs, and seems to be a decent person. Good on her.

Taylor Swift and Fearless were good albums but she figured out she could make way more money being a pop whore

Are you serious, Clark?

If you Google the phrase "preaching to the choir", you'll see a picture of Taylor Swift.

EVERY SINGLE mid-teen (and even some older) female relates to her, and fantasizes about being her, or at least one of her "Swifties". "I go on too many dates", and "got a long list of ex-lovers" just NAILS the sweet spot for that demographic.

Throw in some catchy assed beats, and keep going with the middle school theme, and she's an ABSOLUTE CASH COW. If you remember the song "Call me maybe" a decade or so back, that's another anthem for the teen chicks.

ITT, fat, middle-aged white guys who think music peaked 50 years ago and died 30 years ago complain about a popular musical artist. Film at 11.

Have u not paid attention to history? History of pop culture. If you can capture the young girl demographic, you dominate whatever platform you are in. That’s any performer. Taylor Swift, Leonardo DiCaprioin Titanic, Boy Bands, The Beatles (early), Madonna in the mid 80’s, young Elvis, the list goes on.

If you capture that young girl group. You will dominate. But it’s very short lived. Unless you can grow and keep them like Swift has done. These “girls” are 30+ year old women now. Madonna kept them for 20 years until she became a fricking cartoon. Justin Timberlake kept them through his boy band days as a solo artist.

Young girls will watch your movie 50 times, go to any concert you have and pay top dollar. Watch multiple shows if the shows are like Swifts (3 in one city) and are nearby.

Nothing new. Elvis of the 50’s and early 60’s Beatles. It can go back earlier to pre Elvis crooners.

How many times do I have to tell you that while I am flattered at how you follow me around and post about me, I'm not that way?

Your unrequited infatuation for me is causing you some emotional problems.

And I'm sorry, but I'm also never going to share your love for Alice In Chains.
