LINK

Technically it is the third song from a rock band to hit a billion with Maroon 5's Sugar and One Republic's Counting Stars ahead. Next up for a billion views is Linkin Park's Numb with 902 million

Only 2.1 billion more to go to match the timeless hit, “Gangnam Style”

It's certainly not a bad song...but I don't get how its regarded as this amazing power ballad or whatever. Maybe it the feels it creates when you watch the video.

Estranged was a much better song from that era of GnR, but I love the guitar solo in November Rain. That song was huge around my freshman/sophomore year of college.

Estranged is still a better song.

Edit: spleen beat me to it

True. It's a horrible song. Maudlin, and Axl sounds like Ethel fricking Merman. Just utter crap.

That song just doesn't do it for me. Then again I don't care much for any Guns N' Roses, Axl's vocals aren't bad, just annoying to me.

So how much money did they make off of it?

Am I the only one who thinks Estranged is the better "long epic" song on Appetite? Probably

I said the same thing the day it came out. That song and Don't Cry were the nails in the coffin as far as I was concerned. There was so much other great music coming out then that it was easy to move on and write them off for that disgustingly pablum bullshite.

I've always hated that song. Seems bloated, overproduced and pretentious. It felt like they wanted to have a neon sign on it saying "Quiet please. Masterpiece in progress."

They did dirtbag sleaze metal well. That didn't mean they automatically had the capacity to do ostentatious classic rock well also.

No. Estranged is much better. Particularly the latter half. The last 45 seconds are peak.

I agree that the 2nd half is a waste. But just the 2 solos in the first half make it to die for (especially the first one.)

Because they slid from the gritty L.A. scene to being self obsessed "rock gods" in an era where it was cool to throw tantrums and act sultry and pouty anytime a camera is around. which is cringe as frick in hindsight. And the music turned into a total cheese fest

Besides that, axls screechy vocals are a lot like ozzys for me. I get mildly nostalgic from time to time, but I have like a 2 song max. then my ears start getting cancer

Who else was in the "gritty LA scene"? I'd say it was mostly just them. Everyone else was just pure hair metal.

Eh. Axl is legit crazy. I don't find the other guys to be as you've describe them.

Did it?

That makes me sad to hear. Ozzy is great.

Estranged is a fricking masterpiece. I don’t care what experts say.
