Late 1988 to early 1990s, DM was on U2 & GnR's heels for biggest attraction in the world.

Anyone paying attention to their 1988 101 Rose Bowl show(U2's Edge was in attendance..he knew they were on the edge of world domination in taking over America). Then, in 1990, with their LA Wherehouse Music Riot, we saw the precursor for a day when EDM, DJs making mega-millions, Ibiza, etc..ruled the world.

Best keyboard only band ever. They do now play more instruments than keyboards.

Agreed. For them to be able to follow up Music for the Masses and that tour with Violator was pretty amazing. As great as that 101 show was, the Songs of Faith and Devotion tour DVD is the pinnacle of them live IMO. Huge DM fan until Alan Wilder left. His importance to their success can't be overstated.

They will always be my favorite band. Their run from 86 with Black Celebration until 97 with Ultra was incredible both studio and live. Their studio releases since then have been hit and mostly miss. They're a shell of their past greatness but they do put on a damn good show live still. I'm hoping they have one great album left in them. Their sound and atmosphere left with Wilder sadly.

Meh - they're damn good but their line up always included drums and Andy's bass

Depeche Mode easily had the best 12" remixes.
Little 15 (remix)

New Dress (razormaid remix)

World in my Eyes (razormaid remix)

Never Let me Down (remix)

Yup. They are the hidden gems of their catalog. Alan Wilder at his finest. He made an immediate impact from the first release when he joined the group.

I know that they were hugely popular, and I see the attraction although I was never into them much myself. I think part of that is that, for ME (IMHO, etc...don't attack!) their music hasn't aged well. It has that dated 80's sound. U2 and GnR's music from those eras still stands up over all that time.

For ME.
