AIC was simply a better band.

Dirt. I'm one of those '80s kids that really disliked Nirvana. Still do.

Dirt is better than In Utero, but I really like the riffs on In Utero. Nevermind was more polished and clean, while In Utero was more gritty riff wise.

Not that anyone cares, but as far as the Big 90s grunge bands go, my favorite albums by each:

Soundgarden: Badmotorfinger
Nirvana: Incesticide
Alice in Chains: Self Titled/Tripod/Whatever the frick
Stone Temple Pilots: Tiny Music
Pearl Jam: No Code

I don't even know that I consider Dirt to be "grunge". To me, it was just a more earthy type of metal.

Dirt. I didn’t really like In Utero at all. If the choice was Nevermind, I would have gone with that.

Dirt is really the only AIC I would consider a little bit grunge.

STP is the best of all of it. Been listening back to them a lot lately. STP stuff and Nevermind is really the only early 90s stuff like that I go back to a lot.

Finally someone said it. AIC were Sludge/Glam riffs.

And STP of course were great, but were a straight up Rock band. Silvergun Superman, Still Remains, Lady Picture Show, Trippin on a Hole in a Paper Heart dont strike anyone as Grunge.

Dirt and as someone already said...best grunge album period.

My 18 year old said to on Monday...Dad! I think Dirt is the best album ever released. I said yes it's amazing. Then he said...name a better album. I named a few including Master of Puppets. He followed that with...Alice in Chains much better than Metallica...

Just happy he found heavy music to be honest.
