Wow, blast from the past. I actually bought his first solo album right after he left The Scorpions ages ago. Dude is an amazing guitarist, but he should be nowhere near a microphone.

Maybe not best, but a damn good one I don't think is listed:

Prince

While My Guitar Gently Weeps from the tribute to George Harrison in 2004

It's great stuff really some of the best guitar work live that you'll probably hear

He was truly under appreciated as a guitarist because he could play with anyone and take it to places.

Megadeth - Holy Wars... The Punishment Due

Marty Friedman was ridiculous on this whole album.

Yes, he's truly amazing.

A couple of my fav's:

Something---The Beatles (so simply & beautifully played)
25 or 6 to 4---Chicago
Hot For Teacher---Van Halen
Don't Tell Me You Love Me---Night Ranger

Was gonna say this one. Also agree with you on Marty Friendman. Not just with Megadeth, his solo stuff is also pretty darn ridiculous. Never thought he got the recognition he deserves.

Another one of my favorite solos:

Ace Frehley - Love Gun
I know it's not the best ever but the outro solo during the chorus is my favorite.

My favorite part of that performance is all the other guitarists on stage looking at Prince like they didn't even belong on stage with his talent.

Saw them in Atlanta way back when. Hitch a Ride has always been my favorite Boston song. They played the entire concert and a encore and did not play it. I was losing my head. I knew it would probably be my only chance to see them and they did not play it.

Came back out and played it after a very long wait as a second encore. It was a extended version and was still one of the best concert moments of my 51 years. I can still hear that song rattling the walls of the Omni now.

Holy shite it was good

DannyB, there is a reason they all had that look on their faces: they truly didn't belong on that stage with the best musician to ever pick up an instrument!!
