??????? Cool ?????
I remember when my daughter was in middle school. Those awkward first few "teenage" years where the clothes don't quite fit correctly, mouthful of braces, conflicting styles of hair/clothes/makeup, boots paired to shorts, turquoise pink and purple outfits perfectly clashing ect.......... Reminds me a lot of Prince-

And your comment just illustrated PERFECTLY why Prince is not taken as seriously as he should be as a guitarist or musician. A lot of people had trouble getting past all his bs to appreciate how great he was.

This. It seems too obvious, but it’s the only single true answer.

And I’m not a huge Eddie fan.

I don’t know, but Freebird seems stale and just okay to me. I’m not the biggest fan, but I did see L. S.play a great set in Natchitoches before they broke big.

Ran across this video on YouTube a few weeks ago. Prince’s solo at the end is something to see. Can’t stop watching. The video as a whole is great .

Guitar solo as part of a song with vocals, or guitar instrumental, two very different things?

Some will think I'm nots because it's rough and pretty simple, but Richards' work on Sympathy for the Devil has always moved me. Same with "Gimme Shelter", frankly.

Playing a lot of notes real fast doesn't necessarily mean better.

Prince was very cool, and his wardobe was intended to be outrageous.

I am of the belief that the notes not played are the most important, Richards is certainly at the top of those that have mastered note economy.

Richards as also probably created more instantly recognizable song intro riffs than any other guitarist.

Failure - Daylight

This is it for me. Not the most impressive solo from a technical standpoint, but in terms of wrenching pure emotion from the instrument, I’ve never heard its equal.

It's great stuff really some of the best guitar work live that you'll probably hear

He was truly under appreciated as a guitarist because he could play with anyone and take it to places.
Resurrecting this thread. I ran across this today. Pretty special, IMHO (and I was never a Prince fan). LINK
