Absolutely.

Though to be honest, the only team I don't want to win is Miami given how insufferable that fanbase is when they win (don't want Beck to win one there either).

If Oregon or Indiana win I'd be happy for them since neither team's ever won a championship in football. I'd prefer Oregon of the 2 just because of how close they've been, plus I'd like to see Lanning win one.

It's just nice that it's not Ohio State, Alabama, or Georgia for a lot of folks too for the first time in a while.

If that were to happen, Monken would still have to deal with a problematic OL and it's OL coach. And, it appears the WR room is still not very good. I know injuries have something to do with the passing struggles at times but still.

Agree with all this. If I'm Monken though and an offer was made, one of my stipulations would be control (or veto power of some kind) over offensive position coach hirings/firings as part of my counter to be sure I have who I want where I want them.

Honestly, I was thinking the same thing. After a bit, I decided it is probably better to be very solid all across the defense then to have 5-6 on first or second team, and I think/hope that this is indicative of that. We have a very solid defense and offense. We don't seem to be as dominant as 2021 or 2022, but we have a more balanced team with a strong defense and a strong offense. I like this team a lot right now.

I noticed that too. This seems indicative of NIL and the transfer portal. The talent is spread out across the SEC much more than previously, such as Jared Curtis to Vandy. 5 years ago he never goes there, 2 years from now he may no longer be there. It's hard to stack talent when another school can pay up and offer immediate playing time for players.
Unless we're willing to up our NIL for freshman (Which I don't think we will or should) that, coupled with no path to immediate playing time will make it really difficult to land one of these high 5 star QBs who want to be the guy from day 1.

Same thing happened with Raiola last year. Recruiting has become brutal lol. We need to shoot for the 4 star QBs, hit the portal for proven guys (Kirby more willing to pay out) or when the stars align, such as when our starter is in his senior year, then go after the 5 star guys with a solid offer and a chance to compete for starting job.

The big bucks have been there consistently, amd will continue to be.

But don’t discount the competitive nature of someone who can rise to the level of D1 head coach. Just because another coach failed before them because the league is difficult doesn’t stop their belief that they can get it done. The challenge of exactly that and the ego boost that comes with winning in such a hard conference, with a chance at a natty, is a huge driver for many of these guys, likely more so than the money (though I’m sure that’s nice lol).

Perhaps we should have had our fans trash our own field to get a review and play overturned I guess?

Don’t think Kirby needs those secrets

If we'd looked dominant in most or all of our games outside of the Bama game, maybe that could happen. I'd still doubt it, but as inconsistent as we've looked all year there's no way we would get placed above a conference champion or a single loss SEC championship or even Big10 championship game loser

I lived in Florida for 13 years, and I'm convinced Da U doesn't actually have any real fans from living there.

When they're no good, you won't see a Miami shirt, hat, anything even during the season, whereas Florida, Florida State, even UCF fans will show out no matter what their team looks like in a given year.

The second Miami looks good for a game or two to open a season however, the sidewalk fans are everywhere. It's pretty sad.
What's his buyout currently if he was to be fired mid-season?
Considering what happened both times we played them last year, he's not wrong to view us a threat. We're all that really stands between them and an SEC Championship currently.
Even the best teams wander in the wilderness for extended periods of time. The right coach and a little bit of patience and they can definitely turn things around
Yeah, it’s rare I feel that way (calls tend to go both ways, good or bad), but it was really bad in that game.

Fluke? Dude, you got your shite pushed in, at home, at night.

And a Texas fan talking about favorable calls is hilarious. Imagine getting those calls and still getting your arse kicked. That would be embarrassing.
This all odd for them to say considering they got beat down by the only SEC team they’ve played so far.
What a crazy day. It felt weird sort of rooting for us to miss the SECC, but I found myself rooting for Auburn as this game went on. Let’s Go!
