The 4 horsemen, aside from Magneto, were pretty weak. I also don't get what's the point of jumping ahead 10 years with these films? It's been 20 years since first class but everyone looks the same.
next one is taking place in the 90's. Confirmed.

im sorry, but ive got to correct you on this
average 115-124gr 9mm rounds will push 1150-1250 fps, or 381 m/s
/rant. definitely no uniform speed for bullets lol. at 1700m/s, no standard projectile would be able to stabilize.

it's all good, just thought you might want to know

Also it's too close to Civil War in release and a lot of casual movie goers don't want to see two Superhero movies in one month.
Agreed. I think slowly but surely audiences are starting to get a bit burned out by superhero movies. We've had 4 now in the past 3 months. It's getting oversaturated. Even Civil War has dropped off big time, and will struggle to hit 400 million domestically. Now, that's still a very good total but when you realize it made almost 200 mil opening weekend, that shows really bad legs. JMHO.

Alot of theie repeat viewers are seeing this instead, hurting its numbers.
I also still need to see this. I meant to go this past week but i never got around to booking my tickets. I will likely wait until Friday now.

I think it will have better legs than BvS, but not quite up to Civil War, in comparison to its opening weekend gross. Word of mouth among the fans has been largely positive towards the movie.
I was dreading this a bit with Apocalypse being hard to pull off and Mystique seemingly leading the X-Men, but I think they pulled Apocalypse off and the focus is primarily focused on Xavier/Magneto and Jean/Scott, not Mystique.
When the movie ended, my first thought was "Well, that was certainly an X-Men movie." I just don't know what the critics were expecting, since even in their negative reviews I liked what I was hearing.

I really enjoyed it as well, I hope it ends up having solid legs. I just think the trailers were weak and the reviews are not good. I recommended it to several friends yesterday and they all had a similar reaction - "the trailers look so terrible."

Very uninspired, average movie. Not exactly bad per se but this is almost worse. Totally unmemorable.

What? Phoenix was easily memorable, as was Psylocke. As a cominc collecter of the x-men during the 80's, I was grinning when she "showed her power"!

Hoping this is sarcasm, but Psylocke was the weakest part I thought, maybe only next to Angel, who I still don't see why Apocalypse would recruit him.

I knew going into it who the Four Horsemen would be, so I expected Fox to deviate from the comics, but I can't get over Fox's continuity problems within its own films:
1) Nightcrawler first meets Jean, Storm and others in X-Men 2, but at the end of this film he decides to stay at the school with Storm.
2) Angel was the same age in X-Men 3 as he was in this film, which takes place 25+ years earlier, and he's in East Germany?
3) Xavier is all about restraining Jean's powers in X-Men 3, but he tells her to let go in this one. Is this what leads him to put up the barriers to contain Phoenix? Possibly, but it still raises some questions.
I get that Days of Future Past was supposed to un-F**k up what X-Men 3 did to the storyline, but the first two points alone are tough to ignore. It's like Fox is ignoring its own timelines. I almost wish Fox had stopped with DoFP.
Disney has deviated from the comics with the MCU, but their storyline is more consistent and the films all tie together well. I hope they can work something out with Fox to at least get Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer in the MCU to fight Thanos. It'd be nice to see them.

I think when international and domestic are tallied it will be a high grosser. Won't touch the other superhero movies released this year, but will do well.
I think they nailed Jean Grey. I was fine with the Havoc changed but they glossed over his death, he should have been killed by Apocalypse, and then had Apocalypse made the explosion and teleport out.
Better than BvS (which I was really looking forward to and think Affleck looked great in) but not a Civil War. I can't compare deadpool to other comic films. It was just too different.

Days of Future past reset everything. They have deviated a lot from the original trilogy but still tiee in certain characters to keep the same universe.
Events spawned from the trilogy have changed when characters have joined up with the Xmen. Mystique would not have been recruiting and saving mutants in her nirmal timeline. Storm never had the chance to become a Central African goddess. Nightcrawler never became a infamous pit fighter. So many changes. That is what explains the "errors" you mention. As far as Angel, possible others can have similar mutations.

Angel is easy to retcon.
The one from 1983 is Warren Worthington II.
The one we know from the present day would be his son.
Of course, we can't have Siren because Banshee was killed though.

Friend and I just got out of seeing it and regally enjoyed. Definitely side with the fans on this one and not the
critics.
Only thing that could make it better would have been Gambit.

Better than I thought it would be. It had some problems, but it was fun and was a good take on the X-Men, actually.
And I liked the direction in goes in, both with the new characters and with the...
Essex Corps. Sinister is underrated.
