Too bad fox fricked it over big time, could have had an Xmen/FF/Deadpool cross over.

Rotten Tomatoes has it at 49%. I will still go see it though.

Rotten Tomatoes can no longer be trusted. They only give Disney films overwhelming praise despite how shitty some of it coudl be.

We'll see a Deadpool one once the movies get to modern times imo.
Apocalypse is not as bad as reviews indicate. Not nearly as good as its two predecessors, but still a decent popcorn flick. I have it in line with the middle of the pack movies like X-Men and The Wolverine
Could have done a lot more with Apocalypse imo but they do give focus to many different characters, including Jean and Cyclops. Quicksilver is still awesome

Just got out. If you enjoyed First Class and Days of Future Past you'll enjoy this one.
If you love vibrant colors in your superhero movies then this is the one for you.

Just got out of it. I really liked it. I don't know what everyone else was expecting, because I expected nothing different out of it.
Here's what everyone needs to realize: Apocalypse is a shitty villain. Yes, he's powerful, but there's really nothing else to his character. The horsemen is the only interesting part of his villainy. I wasn't exactly thrilled when he was announced as the villain, but figured it was inevitable since he seems to be the X-Men's second biggest villain. Fortunately they're going to make up for it in the next movie with what I feel is the X-Men's true second best villain Mister Sinister.
But the price of admission is worth it solely due to the Quicksilver scene. Might be the best sequence ever in a comic book movie and blew the last one out of the water (although I don't buy he could have drank the Tab ). The new generation is greatly handled and well cast, and they held up on their own (and with Mister Sinister as the next villain, they better be cast well). McAvoy and Fassbender as usual killed it.
I cringed a bit at the end with Mystique now leading the X-Men. They also totally failed to capitalize on the 80s, and a time when spandex was the hot thing should be the perfect era for the X-Men, but good all in all. The only reason it's getting these shitty reviews is it had to follow DoFP and (indirectly) Deadpool. This was certainly better than Age of Ultron, but also clearly the worst of the X-Men prequels. It's pretty middle of the road when it comes to the comic book movies, and in the middle of the X-Men movies. Maybe I'm just biased, but glad they got much closer to Scott and Jean than they've done in the past.
3 out of 4 stars

There's no comparison. It's like comparing a decent burger with a brutally burnt steak.

Not in the Age of Apocalypse series. In the normal universe, yeah, he's kind of lame with gimmicky schemes that obviously fail miserably, but in Age, dude is beyond bad arse.
I really wish they would do The Pheonix Saga, but let's be real here, nothing is going to top Deadpool until possibly Deadpool 2 if they actually do it with Cable.

I'd be willing to bet he'll be the next Wolverine villain.

I hope so...I've been wanting Omega Red on screen since I was a kid. Mister Sinister will be awesome too.

I liked it. Not as good as Days of Future Past, but they set the bar so high with that one there really wasn't anywhere to go. I mean, we just expect Quicksilver to be amazing at this point (and he is).
At least we got a taste of why you can't just "let Quicksilver take everyone out in the blink of an eye".
No time to set up everyone's backstory, but I'd rather this film than a three part series surrounding Apocalypse.
No annoying performances. Caliban was a nice surprise. Glad that they said, "frick it" and just went full Phoenix.
