His British accent was a joke in "Dracula" with Gary Oldman and Wynona Ryder. It was so bad, it was downright laughable.

Dick Van Dyke is so beloved he gets a pass for Mary Poppins. Ted "Theodore" Logan does not get such treatment.

He was serviceable in Collateral and pretty good in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Otherwise I agree.

That's funny, Brad Pitt has only ever played Robert Redford too.

Hollywood tried to push Worthington. Avatar lead. Terminator Lead. No charisma.

Jennifer Gardner. (If she is considered A list)

She is horrible...Jennifer Garner, on the other hand, is not that bad.

When he was in Point Break (1991) I enjoyed it in spite of his acting. The whole movie was a ridiculous fun time. Arguably the lead was Swayze as the villain.

When I saw Dracula (1992) I thought it was a great movie in spite of Keanu. When I saw Speed (1994) I thought Keanu wasn't a great actor but he was an action star.

Five years after that the Matrix made him one of the biggest movie stars in the world.

The actual correct answer is probably Ryan Reynolds

Used to say he was underrated because of some turns he did that were quite good, like the Woman in Gold, Buried and Amityville Horror, but he has leaned entirely into the shtick you talk about and it is getting tired.

It’s made him a lot of money, though.

We can quibble on her acting, but there is something about her that makes me dislike her immensely in her roles. I don’t know what it is. Like she’s a scolding school teacher or something. It’s very weird and hard to put my finger on.

Depends if you consider her an “A-lister” or not, but Katherine Heigl

This is the correct answer. Gal Gadot has 0 acting talent.

I guess you've never seen 12 Monkeys then. Pitt plays a character SO outside of what his leading man persona usually calls for. I really respect for it.

Mic has given some great performances: Leaving Las Vegas, Vampire’s Kiss and Adaptation

Pitt is a great fricking actor. His acting is overshadowed by his looks.

He is excellent in Legends of the Fall, A River Runs Through It (where, yes, he is an analogue for Robert Redford and purposefully so), 12 Monkeys, Burn After Reading, Jesse James, Snatch, Se7en, Moneyball… shite, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood…

Not only are these outside of “the norm” for Pitt, in some cases they are way outside the norm (Snatch, 12 Monkeys, and Burn After Reading).

If anything, Pitt is criminally underrated.

Agreed. I dismissed Pitt at first as a pretty boy.

Then he went out of his way to find scripts that were great and didn't fall back on his looks to drive the narrative.

Pitt has earned his status.

Was Shia Labeouf A-list?

That's my answer, then. He was great in Holes. Since then? Lukewarm dog shite on a cracker.

Shia isn't A-list and he does have acting chops. So I don't think he belongs in this thread on either account.

Fury and Peanut Butter Falcon are two examples.

He has been fantastic in a number of movies. Adaptation is probably my favorite.

Concur.

Add Fury and Inglorious Basterds. He's got range and he's a damn good actor. Just happens to be dreamy
