I submit Nicolas Cage

I love lots of his movies…. But his delivery and his facial contortions…. It’s awful. He overacts and it’s cringe bad…. Who else can we think of?? And I mean A list superstars that are the lead in most if not all their movies

But is he worthy of the Oscar?? Even in movies he is well known for…nic cage is a bad actor and is strictly a movie star

Cage and Costner were the first that come to mind.

Samuel L. Jackson... perhaps the most one dimensional actor of all time.

Al Pacino after Godfather II was an overacting hack.

Robert Redford has only ever played Robert Redford.

He was good in leaving Las Vegas, for which he won his Oscar, adaptation, for which he was nominated for an Oscar and raising Arizona. He’s overdone it plenty in a lot of movies and is kind of a caricature of himself these days, but he’s also not an A-lister anymore

ETA: Obviously he's been good in other things, OP just seemed to need examples. FWIW, i love Cage going full Cage. Bad Lieutenant 2 is a prime example of when it really works

The rock would definitely apply and he’s far worse than Cage even now

Definitely doesn't contain Sam Worthington.

It almost has to be Keanu. But we love him anyway.

I heard Tarantino say on a podcast that he wanted Lawrence Fishburn for the Jules role in Pulp Fiction.

He would have been better.

And I think Fishburn would be better in just about every role that Jackson has had since.

If A-list includes Eric Bana….the scene at the end of Blackhawk Down where he seems to be chewing cud is awful.
