To call the recent seasons a WB level production is to do an injustice to the WB.
No show has ever been more of an indictment of modern Hollywood show runners than the Witcher.
She’s a t-ball batter that managed to strike out:
-huge star who is loved universally
-massive established universe based on tons of content to pull from
-attractive and charismatic female leads
Show runner in her infinite ego simply can’t color between the lines because she doesn’t like the source content, proceeds to mock it and the lead then does her own thing that’s predictably horrible and the whole thing craters.
I’m not sure whether to be more upset with her for ruining what should’ve been a headlining show or for Netflix for hiring her because her husband has pull with them.

Finished season 4 yesterday.
I don’t get this talk about Gerald not being in the show. I’d say it’s pretty evenly distributed between all 3 main characters (yen, ciri, Geralt) and their different stories.
Overall this season added nothing to the plot besides weakening the dark mage Vig…..fort?
Geralt went and killed some monsters with his band of misfits and officially becomes a knight of rivia randomly.
Ciri makes some new friends and scissors a black girl then watches them all die
Yen fricks Geralt one last time and restarts the witch school after weakening the bad guy and destroying his army.

I was a fan, until I watched the first several episodes of S4. Beforehand I was bummed that cavill quit the show, but after three episodes I was like, oh. Good on him for leaving, this is terrible. I’m out too. Shame.

They had him dead to rights unconscious on the floor and didn't nuke him so yen could find out he wanted to do bad things to Ciri (which she already knew).
He went on to kill countless more of her people and her ex boyfriend had to sacrifice himself to break the evil mages control of the portals.
This huge mistake is never addressed.
