I almost feel bad for any actor being asked to play the live version of Miles considering how perfect the animated version has been.

We watched it saturday night and it was okay, but why it made this much money is kind of a mystery to me

I guess since it’s the first interesting movie since Deadpool and Wolverine

$927 million in three days is.....impressive.

Good Lord.

Has a movie ever made that much in a single weekend at the worldwide BO?

Saw it yesterday, every showing from Thursday to Sunday at every Dolby and IMAX AMC screen in the Indianapolis area said almost full. The parking lot at the one i go to was as packed as i have ever seen it. I have not seen a movie theater like this since before covid.

Endgame
$1.2B

what's odd is in 2nd place is now this Spider-Man movie, but what was in 2nd place before was Infinity War, at just $640M, and next was Spider-Man No Way Home at $600M

I don't think Sony needed Marvel to put up those numbers at all bc da Andrew Garfield one made even more without marvel, can't get that one past us

huh? BND made more in its opening weekend than The Amazing Spiderman made in its entire run.

Damn. Super impressive.

Holland about to get paid RDJ money for Secret Wars and the next two solo Spidey movies. Hell, he and Zendaya could probably ask to be producers too. Hope his agent got him a percentage of the box office

I hope they don't feel like they have to kill off Peter Parker to make Miles work; they're pretty good working together in the current comics.

That said, I can understand the confusion if you try to makes movies featuring Miles and different movies featuring Peter.

Best case would be to have 1-2 movies where Miles is new, Peter takes him under his wing (but not exactly like Spider-Verse because they already did that), and then keep Peter alive as an option but let Miles become the main focus.

On a separate note, I was really hoping they'd introduce Black Cat or a different love interest for Peter. I can't imagine how much it would suck to see the person who loved you forget who you are while you still remember (about the only thing that actually terrifies me about getting old); I figured they gave enough of a time skip for him to at least try and move on.

SM BND had a boat load of plot holes and problems, but the central story line was solid enough and the characters strong enough to mog the entire DC Gunniverse.

And remember, this is less a MCU movie and more of a SONY movie.

Oh no bro, the board geniuses told me Spider-Man can’t exist without the MCU. He’s a parasitic character who’s worthless without juggernauts like The Marvels propping him up.

No one has said this or anything like it. You said something dumb, and you are making up dumber things to distract from that fact, because you like to pretend people are ganging up on you. You could just stop saying, not to mention incessantly repeating, dumb things.
