When I finally saw Chinatown, I was throughly disappointed. And I usually love period pieces set between the wars.

But I'll probably never pick a Tarantino movie to rewatch.

Not even Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction?

Yeah, I was a victim of the hype. I didn't see it until it came out on video after everyone losing their minds about how funny it was for months.

Same for when I finally saw Meet the Parents, but I did catch that one in the theater.

I will not say that I dont care for it but Pulp Fiction was not one of my favorites. It had some parts that I really liked but overall, I didnt go crazy over it

It took me several attempts to actually make it through Pulp Fiction. Idk, it just didn't captivate me like I expected. The characters are actually quite dull, and there's really not a whole lot of development with them: it's just event after event.

Very, very different movie but I feel the same way about Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm not a huge fan of Marvel, but good lord, that movie was written for people with the attention span of a 10 year old.

Yeah Avatar didn't do much for me either. I don't even get excited going on the Avatar rides at Animal Kingdom.

Tombstone

Not that I don't care for it or think it's garbage, I just don't think it's some great western film. It's a bit of an action flick centered around the Tombstone mythology.

Really silly storyline.

Some clown kills himself and college friends reunite for his funeral for like 5 days.

One woman allows her husband to sleep with and knock up her friend because her biological clock is ticking away, and she has nobody to bang.

Some guy is impotent and hooks up with a really young girl, who realistically would have nothing to do with him, who's boyfriend just offed himself.

They play touch football very poorly.

They all smoke pot and argue over trivial BS.

Then they leave.

I love Tombstone. I think it is Val Kilmar's best role. What is a Western that you think is a real Western? I never got all the hype for Unforgiven.

Lebowski had some pretty funny moments… the overall narrative was
not to be taken to seriously.

Lost in Translation.

The endings of Blazing Saddles and Holy Grail ruined truly great, funny movies.

I feel exactly the same about American Beauty.

I'm a woman and I feel the same. I also feel the same way about all the Nicholas Sparks books. I don't want to read or watch movies to become depressed. I know we are talking about movies and not books here, but I'd add anything by Kristin Hannah. Some of her books have been turned into Netflix movies. No thanks...I don't want to cry for hours. I feel like 80% of women out there love this shite and I just don't!

Give me Blazing Saddles, Caddyshack, etc. I'd rather laugh than cry.
