That his family paid for. The room they paid for was easily 10-12k/night. He was downgraded to a room that cost significantly less. The lesson he is teaching his wife is that, because they have money, people will try to take advantage of them. They must stand up for themselves or risk being played for fools. He’s the exact opposite of Albie whose nice guy, bleeding heart costs his dad $10k.
You’re also completely leaving out the part where Armand refuses to admit the mistake or refund the money. Shane shouldn’t stand for this and Armand repeatedly offers solutions with the intent to continue ruining the honeymoon. The reason rich people stay rich is that they don’t give away their money without good reason. Armand just thinks of these people as spoiled children (and to a degree, they are), but that doesn’t mean they’re stupid nor does it give him the right to steal their money by offering a lesser suite.
Shane didn’t ask his mom to show up. That was her decision. He played it right by not causing a scene with his mother. They present a unified front in the face of someone stealing their money by offering a lesser product with free perks instead of refunding the money they paid.

Which doesn't change the fact at all that it was also her honeymoon as well

And that was the one thing Armond (who was in the wrong from the beginning) actually made right. He fixed the price. And it never stated that the room as significantly less. You're just making up stuff now. And Shane even realized that the room was actually nicer, but still couldn't drop it.

Yea I'm not defending Albie for anything, he got played. But Shane was a straight up Karen and had his character been a girl, she would be getting absolutely roasted for being the biggest Karen to ever exist. he was right to complain initially, for his character to work at all, he as to be right in some way. I don't think really anybody is arguing that. But his actions, along with Armands, completely derailed a honeymoon.

He corrected the money situation though. Shane acknowledge that. You're mad about this for no reason.

Again, I'm not and never have argued Armond was in the right. And again, Shane was justified to a degree. But it doesn't change the fact that he could have dropped it. He also derailed the honeymoon. You might be the only person on the planet that doesn't realize he also played a part. And for sure the only person that thinks he is the most masculine character because of being a giant Karen.

To a degree?

It's getting to the point where I think you missed the entire intent of the storyline if you think the way the situation with his mom played out was ok.

All that is fine and well, but he has little tact, and comes across as an entitled douche.
it is a bit of stunt casting to make you hate him right away. Lets make him a stereotype of every commercial real estate or investment banking douche ever met so that no matter how right he is the viewer will be against him.
While the hotel manager is charming and funny but a drug addict who steals from guests, screws over other guests and drugs employees for sex.

only after getting called out that they weren't paying the lower rate after the travel agent got involved.

he tried to drop it. Armond didn't change the rate until called out and then when Shane tried to offer an olive branch with the boat ride, Armond sticks him Tonya and her dead mom's ashes.
He is completely justified with being upset about all that

What a letdown of a season. Going to sit the rest of this one out, may binge it on a long flight or something but it just lacks basic entertainment.
This.
So boring, with no interesting or likeable characters.

Yeah, Mook was looking especially cute last night.
As for the ongoing debate about Shane in S1, he was 100% in the right with the hotel and how that was handled. His mom and wife and everything else aside, the hotel was intentionally trying to take advantage of him and he had every single right to be pissed about it and address it. And the fact that Armand handled it the way he did only made things worse.
If I were in Shane's same spot, I would've been bitching as much as he was about it.

This ^^^
Is what makes this show so good! White plays with stereotypes setting up what looks to be more wokism then breaks it halfway through the season.
Armand is an unreliable pov character.

Body is definitely nice but her teeth might be worse than Chelsea's. They are jacked.
That was my takeaway...she moved up to an 8 or 9 in that bathing suit when she's normally a 5 or so.

Mook is beautiful
The watch podcast today was talking about how everyone just drinks all day and night and everyone just seems fine. They were talking about how they would be passed out by about 3 PM
No way those women would go all night

podcast?
As for Tim. His state just shows how out of it and self absorbed his wife is. Her husband is stoned out of his mind and she can't tell something is amiss? After her pills were stolen?
So what happens if all their assets are frozen while in Thailand? Safe bet they don't have much cash with them.

The Koh Samui airport is a unique, island version. Not many like that in the country, so was a great location.
The wooks were actually crew members … the one with the bag and elephant pants was a grip and is a tattooed rock n roller IRL

Good question …. I’m not on set much during filming, but my guess it was the real thing. I don’t recall any fake penis discussions in any production meetings.

They definitely captured the stereotypical North Carolina with the family. I don’t recall which episode but there’s one where they are all walking together and they just “look” North Carolina. The Dad being the least stereotypical of the bunch.
