re: What’s something in a movie that didn’t bother you at the time but looking back does

Fights like Qui-Ginn Jinn & Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Darth Maul and Obi-wan vs. Anakin were.

The fact that Trex walked through that wire fence in Jurassic Park 1 like the land was at fence level on other side but minutes later Dr Grant and the boy had to climb down a 50 foot drop in the TRex parrick and dodge a car to escape.

The severity of a crime is not really related to whether it’s a federal or state crime. No federal crimes are implicated in anything you’ve said were.
They were selling pornography, which might have federal implications depending on tax code.
Also is rape never federal?

The whole premise for the original “Overboard” movie

From some website:

quote:
Often incorrectly regarded as a goof is the fact that when the Tyrannosaurus exits her paddock from ground level with the road, there's the sudden appearance of a cliff when she pushes the car over it. In reality, there is in fact a cliff that acts as a natural barrier for the Tyrannosaurus, otherwise she would be able to exit her paddock through the gap between the fencing and the tunnel with ease. The diagram on the right illustrates what happens.

Yeah, topography is a thing..
A better question is why didn’t Muldoon run with Ellie if he knew raptors hunt in packs? He seemed surprised by the attack, so it didn’t really seem he was intentionally sacrificing himself to save her.

Not a movie, but Hank Hill paying sticker price on a vehicle.
The whole point of that was that it was supposed to bother you though. Remember how everyone ends up telling him that no one pays sticker price and “his guy” at the dealership was straight up scamming him telling him it was a good price? And the immediate BBBWWAAAAHHHHH

But not criminal law.

Maybe if you rape someone on federal property?

In Revenge of the Nerds, all of them should have received at least a 5 year prison sentence and others a 30 year sentence. Revenge of the Nerds I think even by the most loose standards is pretty unacceptable these days. Those guys should be in prison for sure and it has aged extremely poorly. I mean seriously, your kid is naked on pie crust for simply changing in her own bedroom. These people in the fraternity would be going to federal “pound me in the arse prison” for that, nevertheless the overt rape that happens in the movie.
Judge gave them the option of joining the military instead of going to prison.

Everything that happened to Nicholas Cage’s character in “Con-Air” before he ended up on the plane.

The Tumbler scene from Batman Begins
He blows up cops just doing their job.
He drives recklessly on public streets endangering innocent people.
Drives on a roof, destroying whatever building he's driving on, it could be apartments, who knows? It's gonna rain inside for months, and the AC units have treadmarks on them.
Drives on the roof of what looks like an old historic church.
Batman doesn't GAF about anybody but himself and Rachel.
frick Batman, Bane was right all along.

I thought about this the other day. That movie is big time fricked up as an adult.

That did always bug me. He literally explained to them exactly how Raptors hunt earlier in the movie. So he should have known that it wasn't the main one he had to worry about when he was outside, but rather another one attacking from the side. He was way too smart for that.
I do think he didn't run though because he figured if they both ran, she would attack. So he stayed there as bait for Ellie to get free and to the compound.
Also, good call on Mrs. Doubtfire as well. I watched that not too long ago and thought the same thing. As an adult, it's just pretty sad.

don't how much it "bothers me" but when you watch the choreography of lightsaber duels in the Star Wars prequels, you realize how bad the lack of choreography for lightsaber duels in the original trilogy was.

The date rape scene in The Rules of Attraction when Shannyn Sossamon's character was getting pounded doggy style on camera then awakens mid-pounding and gets puked on by the drunk college guy, all while a pervert film student is filming and directing the whole thing with his camcorder.
American Beauty and Cruel Intentions are both pretty fricked up too. Of course, Cruel Intentions has now spawned a whole genre of step-sibling porn.

But you're seriously okay with someone having sex with a passed out minor in Animal House and draw a line at a Darth Vader mask?
Pinto refused to have sex with the passed out minor, plus he didn't know she was a minor at the time. So yeah, Pinto is a much better person than basically everyone in Revenge of the Nerds.

Didn't happen. She passed out and he dumped her on her daddy the Dean's door step. He did however have sex with the 13 year old minor/virgin later...so statutory rape sure.
I think all he did was grab her tits.

I first saw "A Clockwork Orange" in my early-twenties as part of discovering a wider-range of more experimental and influential films. I thought it was a brilliant movie, then.
I watched it again as a married man and a father in my early-forties and was quite turned-off by the rape scenes and other uncomfortable moments in the film. The "Singing in the Rain" scene is especially troublesome for me, now.

That was very intentionally disturbing. A Clockwork Orange is one of the most disturbing films of all time. Also worth note the Singing in the Rain scene was improvised, making it all the worse.
