I first saw "A Clockwork Orange" in my early-twenties as part of discovering a wider-range of more experimental and influential films. I thought it was a brilliant movie, then.

I watched it again as a married man and a father in my early-forties and was quite turned-off by the rape scenes and other uncomfortable moments in the film. The "Singing in the Rain" scene is especially troublesome for me, now.

It only gets "worse" with age. As teens, my friends and I would laugh at the violence. I watch it every couple of years and with each viewing it is more disturbing.

That wasn't rape.

How did the Joker sneak in enough explosives to blow up an entire hospital?

Or how did he know the exact altitude and street a helicopter would fly to destroy it? Or how did he know the exact time the mayor would wrap up his speech to shoot him while the snipers were distracted? Or how did he not also perish with everyone else in the police station explosion? The Dark Knight is a great film, but it's one that you shouldn't overanalyze if you don't want to drive yourself insane.

That did always bug me. He literally explained to them exactly how Raptors hunt earlier in the movie. So he should have known that it wasn't the main one he had to worry about when he was outside, but rather another one attacking from the side. He was way too smart for that.

I do think he didn't run though because he figured if they both ran, she would attack. So he stayed there as bait for Ellie to get free and to the compound.

Partially right.

He did stay put because he believed if they both ran to the shed, the raptor would chase them and catch them. I don't think he used himself as bait though, I think he told Ellie to run so that she would bait the raptor while he shot it. But the raptor didn't chase Ellie, it stayed put. Muldoon moves to get into a shooting position and is surprised by the other raptor(s).

We as viewers saw this coming because...remember...it's actually Grant that tells the audience about raptors hunting this way early in the movie. Muldoon doesn't know.

If it makes you feel better he is a total badass in the book. He also survives.

Not surprising since the guy who wrote the rape scene likely also wrote the scene that makes the rapist the good guy and the girl want him despite the rape

Karate Kid II. Doesn't seem great that Miyagi was willing to let Daniel be in a fight to the death. Oh, but the bridge was out!

shite, you're right. Good call. Not sure why I was thinking it was Muldoon, I've only seen that movie 150 times.

I still can't wrap my head around the climbing scenes at the foreign prison in The Dark Knight Rises. It puzzled me when the movie premiered and I struggle to make sense of it today. Why didn't Bruce Wayne or any of the other prisoners fashion a grappling hook out of something a get the heck outta there? It seemed there were many ways to use this gaping hole in the structure to escape to freedom, but no one did.

Pretty Woman. She's a streetwalking whore. Not even a classy, expensive one, like a $20/handjob street whore.

But with a heart of gold.

This. Even in the pre internet days she wouldn’t have been walking the street giving bjs in some alley. At least would have been with some classier escort service that had rich clients.

I don't how much it "bothers me" but when you watch the choreography of lightsaber duels in the Star Wars prequels, you realize how bad the lack of choreography for lightsaber duels in the original trilogy was.

Yeah, they're masterful.

BTW, ANH was choreographed by the legendary Bob Anderson, whose films include Barry Lyndon, Highlander, The Princess Bride, First Knight, The Mask of Zorro and all three Lord of the Rings movies.

In JP3 the Spinosaurus busts through that huge and massive metal fence with ease, 2 seconds later it can’t bust through a bolted door.
